Hi, I am considering an upgrade in motherboard as I want to go sli. The price difference between the boards at my local store is $40. However I am wondering if the ud5 board is really worth it? I don't think I will go three way sli so other than that are there any great differences between the boards? Thanks!

the Gb 990fxa-ud3 does not have mofet drivers. mofet driver help kept the temp on the mofets down when overclocking. That and Tri sli/crossfire is the only differences.

Also better core chokes and VRM cooling including heatpipes. If you don't need extreme OCing, UD3 is the way to go, which is also strong at overclocking.

If you were to get the 990fxa-ud3 you might as well go to the 990xa-ud3 and save money for what you get out of the board.

I say UD5 for overclocking capabilities.
