That is one sleek phone indeed. I like it.

It's a new OS, it's being developed, it's about to expand.

I'll take Android as an example. It's development started in 2003, first device arrived in 2008. I'm pretty sure it had a ton of apps back then.
The development of iPhone believed to be started in 2001. It came out in 2007.
Compare these with MeeGo.

3 devices that I can mention for now: N9, WeTab, ASUS Eee PC X101.

Main companies that are developing MeeGo: Intel, AMD, Novell, Nokia.
GENIVI Alliance and BMW switched from Moblin to MeeGo. Amino will use it too. Linpus has made a Netbook and Multi-touch OS based on MeeGo.

There's no need to write totally new apps for MeeGo, it supports Qt, GTK+ and Clutter.

Nokia said that they will ship only one MeeGo device in 2011. It's the N9.

Odd resolution.
They promised at least one Meego phone. With this looking so nice (I do think a couple of changes are in order, but it is possible to switch UI's completely and have something like stock meego). This shows what Qt can do.

The resolution is "true 16:9." Normally the final four pixels needed to keep the correct ratio are discarded (Motorola devices and the xperia 10 all use the same resolution).

Nokia needs different icons; these are ugly.

I also think that the swiping gesture will be a headache in applications which already have swiping gestures (such as a web browser). Nokia should have made it necessary to swipe near the edge instead (something that is not done during normal usage).

edit: I hope that it can run alien dalvik so android apps will work too

A dead OS? Are you kidding me? It's a NEW OS and it's Open Source and therefore it should be as customisable, if not more customisable than android.

854x480 is a 'true' 16:9 resolution.

So you're basing on how good a mobile OS is to the number of apps it has? Ha ha ha, oh that's a good one

Not meaning to sound like an ass, but 16:9 is a ratio, not a resolution.

Also, information is plural. Informations isn't.

Sorry, I was thinking about resolution at that time and instead of writing down ratio I wrote resolution :L

Edit:
No wait, what I said was correct:

Is this like a new linux based OS thats competing with Android. Why didn't they just go with android for the N9. All this does is dilute the market for app developers.
