Thanks again for the support guys, I'm sure it helped me out! Passes still didn't change, almost 100% sure that it was on my OS HDD.

The WLAN not being functional is still an issue though, just can't get my WLAN menu on my screen, even if I select to connect through another network, it just shows a small pop-up involving the network centre. But that's my LAN, which works like a charm, but I just can't find my WLAN back, as it definitly isn't there..Though it used to work before the reformat ;o

Yeah, i'm pretty sure it was a keylogger and they wont be getting changed any time soon.

Glad you got it sorted out. Also, be careful what you back up, make sure you know what you are backing up.

Don't need a keylogger to get all the passwords of a person.

All account sign ups these days require a email addy
All your accounts security are based on how strong protected are your email account.
Then your email account does it have a recovery questions option or did you choose another email site to send that recovery password?
Normally people use some weak protected college email account for that purpose which means it all collapses like a house of cards.
If you don't use that as recovery then there's a another simple thing.
Most email services don't work without cookies enabled. That means your username and password is in plain text sitting there.
All a person needs to do is to get you clicking on a email or a link to pull the cookie from your browser.
There are other easy ways to get passwords with email as well.
In the end the person has access to the one thing that holds all your passwords.
All he need to do is just get the different log ins to send the password to your email.

I've got a Live mail account and a gmail account, I already assumed he managed to get to everything else through the live mail account. I never click links in spam mail/facebook spam and I clean my cookies regularly, but anyway, I'm glad it's over (for now)

do not access your email via http. Use only https. A person can rip your email password from another google account by querring the CGI server of google.

I had to look up what https actually means and I have to agree on the usage of e-mails/banking (I never do online banking though), thanks for telling me

update: I noticed that google/live mail already use https, so wouldn't make a difference

yes it does but your cookie is still there in plain text. Encryption?
Other thing if https have difficulty connecting they fall back on http without informing you about it.

Use a mail app like Thunderbird that connects directly to the servers.

And do people really keep cookies around past the session?

I don't.
