MSI P7N-SLI for q6600 overclocking?

Thread Starter
As some people on here will know, I've been struggling with overclocking my q6600 on my abit fatal1ty FP-In9 nforce 650i motherboard.
I've been reading online that the 650i is rubbish for overclocking qauds, and that a 750i would be a much better choice,
So I'm looking at an MSI p7n-SLI, which seems great, people with the platinum edition have overclocked to 3.6ghz using it.

My main questions are, would this be a good choice? This is only the standard P7N and not Platinum, I'm worried about how great the differences are.
Checking online, people seem to think they're more or less the same, with the platinum including more accessories and better chipset cooling, but seeing as I'm only trying for 3.0ghz, surely that wont be a problem?

Sorry for the long post guys.
Thanks

It should be fine, though I would still go for a P35/45 chipset instead as they will overclock much higher in general than motherboards with nvidia chip sets - but even still 3.0ghz should be fairly attainable, I was able to reach 3GHZ on a terrible chip on a G31 chipset (Q8200)

NV 600 series was horrible for Core 2 quads.

Unless you're hell-bent on SLI, get a P45, P35. If you get a x-fire ready board (two x16 PCIe slots) you can always hack SLI. NV boards can OC C2 Duals great, but are spotty for quads.
