Green Glitching on my Asus4870X2

Think it's time I finally do something about this problem. It seems to occur whenever there is anything even remotely demanding graphics wise.

The stock cooler is **** and what seems to be the only after market cooler for this card (apparently, am I wrong?) - the Accelero Xtreme 4870x2 was discontinued.. if that's even the problem.. I have a gut feeling the card is defective..

Been out of the loop for a whole now as you can see by my system spec. Only thing that's changed is the monitor, upgraded to a 24'' and this problem was occuring well before hand.

Any ideas? Tests I can run? Card displays fine in device manager.

Yea...card is needing to be RMA if possible. I would try re-seating the card. And if you can get MSI Afterburner, try downclocking the gpu and memory to see if it goes away.

I'll try reseating the card but I have a feeling its not that. It's such a chunky card its difficult for it not to seat itself correctly.

The card was purchased in 2008 so I don't think I'll get a return now. I haven't overclocked anything in this rig at present so it can't be that. Knowing what it is though is something I need to get to bottom of.

Noob question: how easy is downclocking using MSI Afterburner?

Well.. for anyone that gives a ****.. I'm going to try and RMA this card almost 3 years after I purchased it From my recollection I have a three year warranty on it and I do believe that entitles me to a replacement.

Asus must be thoroughly pissed off and seem to be in denial (still), from what I've read all over the internet. I've read dozens and dozens of customers who've had this particular card and have had great difficulty in getting a replacement from Asus. Has anyone ever RMA'd a card this late and if so did you have problems with the retailer/ manufacturer? Give me some idea what I'm up against here.
