Nope, no problems with me running it as fast as she'll go, stable, 100% of the time. And then there is benching for no holds barred, just stable enough to make it through the benchmark fun.

I don't have a problem with anyone who doesn't oc though, I just choose to get the most out of my investments.

There's no third option... one which says I overclock, but others are free not to.
And I overclock (and unlock) my CPU, but my GPUs are at stock until I install some mosfet cooling.

I leave powersaving features on but I definitely overclock. It's too hot in my room if my CPU and GPU are running at full speed 24/7.

If you have the cooling methods to support overlooking I highly recommend doing it. Although I am stock right now because my room already has a terrible draft and it doesn't need to be hotter.

I usually test my limits, try a few benchies and save the OC profile, then run 80% that for everyday,

With that said, my q6700's starting to show its age so i have it at its max realistic OC. (can boot higher but core3 always fails in stress tests)

If i had a sandy bridge i think i'd run a mild OC on it, no real need for the 5ghz clocks people are pulling.

What's the fear in overclocking tho? If you can keep your processor at 5ghz, theoretically at proper cooling what are the reasons you wouldn't run it at that speed?

Is there a ton of threads where computers are fizzling left and right at aggressive clocks?

If you can do 5.0ghz at 70c on Prime95~ with proper cooling, why would I sit at 4.5ghz? Power savings? I don't understand.

I can understand if you don't want to go with a higher cooling setup~ to choose a lower clock speed, but unless these chips are known to fizzle out at these speeds (which this forum and others expose they do not) where is the fear founded from? If not fear, at least teach me your logic.

I overclocked mine because I couldn't unlock the fourth core. Otherwise I don't think I would have overclocked. Or at least, not by much.
