"Gaming" card for 500 watt PSU on Q6600 Rig

Thread Starter
Selling a Q6600 rig that has a 500 watt PSU but an old 8500gt. Was wondering what I should upgrade to, if anything, to sell this PC.

Q6600
EVGA 790i
Corsair CX500 (brand new)
4GB DDR3 Ram
1 HDD
and some fans

I was looking a a 9800gt or a GTS250 even though they are the same thing.
Should I even upgrade or let the consumer do it themselves.
I plan to sell this rig as a "Gaming PC" on craigslist or something.

Budget:$150

Thanks

Used 460 for 100-110 and call it good.

Do you think a 460 will be fine on a 500watt PSU.

It'll be more than fine, you can run a GTX 470/570 easily on a decent 500w. I've got a 275 on mine right now, which was the same consumption as a GTX 470. If you're selling it as a "Gaming Rig" then pop in a GTX 260/275 for $80 and be done.

If you can get a 460 used or a 6850 new then you'd be set. Both cards would be fine with 500w.

You can jump on this deal here for a GTX 460:
http://www.overclock.net/online-deal...gtx-460-a.html

Get free stuff that you can end up selling if you don't want/need it...decent return on investment IMO.

The Corsair CX500 is plenty for a GTX 460 system.
