It's the first LED that is beating most plasmas in black level. Many professional calibrators are rating the TV as high as the kuros, which are the best "consumer" plasma TVs ever made.
Holy crap, it's a very nice tv, and only a few dollars off of the ops 600 budget!

Did you buy some mid-range LED TV without reading reviews and expect it to be amazing? High budget LEDs with full-array local dimming are in a completely different league, I don't think you've ever seen one.

I skimmed through his post again and still don't see where he said 600 dollar budget, its 9 in the morning so I may have missed it.

EDIT: I see it a few posts down now, but my post is still valid. At his budget, LED is not worth it because they require more money for a good LED TV. The low end LEDs are garbage.

Depends on what you are mostly going to be doing on it. Gaming = LCD movies= plasma.

Dark room= plasma
A lot of natural light= LCD

No, I don't really understand plasmas that well

Yet, their circutry only allows 60hz input, which means that the monitor is basically limited to 60hz, even if the panel itself would allow 480hz.

OP doesn't have a $4000 dollar budget for the "best" consumer TV ever made!

Also if your just walking into best buy or something dollar for dollar Plasma wins, sure if you want to buy and LED that is 2 or 3 times the price you will get a better product.

Yes I agree after reading the entire thread and learning his budget. Dollar for Dollar Plasma will win over LED, until you get to about $3000, then a select few LED TVs will start taking forever.

plasma has a great picture and pirce puts its lower than other, but bulbs do burn out.
LCD last much longer. may not have a faster response time but if your console gaming on it, there is not difference.
LED amazin quality compred to both a but price is like taking it with no vaseline.

i say between plasma and lcd
low on funds get a plasma

I changed to LCD and never looked back. Much lighter, will last longer, and much more power efficent(if that matters)

my .02
Yes, but since plasma tvs are separated into sub fields which refresh by themselves, the human eye is deceived that it is refreshing faster than 60hz.

Got myself a Samsung BX2350 next to a 42' LG LCD. You can tell the difference quite easily. Colors just seem more natural, don't think it's a gimmick at all! Not to mention, my old 19' WS Samsung LCD monitor used to get quite hot...this LED stays incredibly cool even after weeks of not being turned off.
