pop up error saying out of memory 103!

i have an old hp desktop running window vista premium. i just recently up from one gig to four gigs. now there error message saying my computer out of memory 103. is it because i'm running a 32bit window n i put four gig in it? can someone please help me out?

If you went from 1gb to 4gb, you actually went from 1gb to 3gb, because of the 32bit barrier. So you should have 3 times more memory. What kind of pop up are you getting saying you are out of memory?

I cant seem to find anything on that particular error code. If I had to guess maybe your file paging is too small? How much available Hard Disk space do you have available?

i just reboot the whole computer. so barely nothing in there. when u say the file paging is too small.can u explain a little more about that?

Its an area of your HDD that Windows uses as RAM. Let me link you to an article so I do not mis speak and confuse you more.

Yup, sounds like a pagefile error (virtual memory)

windows is notorious for not giving it self enough room on the hard drive

sadonhonghun I take it that this is not your sig. rig you are working on (Vista 64)
