Hard to say, you would be able to squeeze a bit more out at least. Would really have to test, see how it scales with the voltage & the heat.

I can't believe that you scored higher in 3dmark 11 with one 580 than I did with two 560Ti's OC'd to 980MHz! ***!

Sometimes SLI/Crossfire come with microstutter that can lower FPS I'd imagine overall. Think the 3D Mark 11 bench is optimized for SLI/Crossfire?

I have one question... What are your temps on your 990x at that clock?

°C, it was stable enough to finish the benchies at least.

Looks like we have a new number one

Outragesly magnificent!

EDIT:
Ok guys I established a little testbench to quickly determine the overclockability of my Lightning.

Meaning that the temps should not be considered final since it is an open bench.

I have done 3 loops :

Loop 1:970/2100@1.1V stable
Loop 2:990/2100@1.15V stable
Loop 3:1 GHZ/2100@1.2V stable => screen
Edit: 1GHZ also works with 1.19V

I set the fan at 85% because it is 34 degrees ambient and I didn´t wanna risk anything at 1.2V ..so the temps are inaccurate.
I will measure them when I have a better ambient and lower clocks ...cause at 1GHZ temps aren´t really a factor anymore.

I think I can still tune down the voltage a little bit because it was perfectly stable.
But I am not very satisfied with the scores to be honest, I have seen a bunch of people here with much more impressive scores and lower clocks.

Why are the scores so low considering that I am on 1 GHZ ?

Could I do any adjustments to improve the score?
My CPU is on 4.1GHZ but the Uncore and RAM frequencies are a bit low ..altough they don´t influence the scores enough to even be considered but maybe it is factor.

I am really trying to find out why my scores are so low
Maybe it is the core throttling? and OCP needs to be switched??

I could still return the card and get anotherone with a chip that might overclock better and achieve better scores?
I think I could use a little less voltage with the 1GHZ still there are surely cards out there that will clock better and I still have the chance to return my current one.

What do you think?

Should I try to improve the scores?

For example FTW with 38.000 Vantage points with only a marginally higher clock than me against my 30.000 Vantage points.

Or Smasherbasher with 968MHZ only being 200 points behind my 1GHZ score?

Gotta be throttling of the chip.

Welcome to the club

I have established some new groundrules for an entry into the Hall of Fame.

Every owner needs to post some benchmark results prefered are Vantage or 3D Mark 11 in order to determine the stability of the stated clocks and to give others a chance to compare their scores as well.

Also you need some Idle and Load temps as well

@bumsoil:That concerns you too I would like you to post some screen shots of Vantage or 3DMark11 with your 1.02GHZ overclock.
