Just got driver crash when I tried 900Mhz@1.025

bump it a bit to 1.035 or something? New to OC'ing this badboy.

The above appears to work fine, no driver crashes. My Vantage scores are worse than they should be though, 20800.

So expensive & no space, got 35 acres to myself here instead of a decent apartment or something downtown, moved from the suburbs because the crime was getting pretty bad.
Things like cable TV & broadband internet would be nice though.

Quiet and Cool OC @ 900 MHz

This is what im running at 24/7 now. I ran 30mark GPU test 4 for 20 minutes, and neither card went above 69c. Then I realized I was also running F@H at the same time. For the above numbers i adjusted the core voltage +50 mV, mem voltage +40 mV.

Noisy and Hot OC @940 MHz

Pushed the core voltage to +118 mV over core voltage. Did 3dmark test 4 for 30 minutes and temps were in the low 80s. I think one card hit 83c as its high, but they were stable around there for 10 minutes. At 80c+ i have the fans running at 85% so its pretty noisy.

For those who own the Lightning and having driver issues.

I personally have experienced that the 267. works best or is at least the most tolerant.

So the guy who crashed at 900MHZ with 1.025v try the 267 driver

@nootron:very nice!

Also another thing I have experienced when overclocking my Lightning was that if you don´t tweak the Memory clock too much and also keep the Shader clock at least 5% lower than a lock on the core the core overclock itself is much more tolerant and stable.

Technically that shouldn´t make no difference but I have experienced it

Also another tip is to increase the PCI slot power induction.
You either have a 4 pin connector on your board somewhere around the PCI area or SATA power connectors like on my board ..so be sure to plug those in;

Lastly if you have the 267. driver installed you can also try to switch the OCP switch.
That would void your warranty but surely drive your oc limit up.

Hope that could help

I know you made the disclaimer about it, but I would be a little more hesitant to recommend things that void the warranty.
I meant that he should keep the shader at least 5% lower than the value the shader clock would have if it was locked to the core
I experienced a 8-11%% gain on the core clock by using this method.

Everybody is capable of deciding what is best for them and their cards.
Still what you said isn´t without meaning, switching OCP will void the warranty as it rises the oc playroom but at the same time the possibilty of damage so everybody who is considering to do so please note that your warranty will be voided and that possible damage or improper operation can be plausible consequences.
