Anyway i was just finishing testing my card @970mhz with Evga Ocscanner 1.6 that i found... and i was stable for 40 mins then i get bored and quit, i think i'm going to stick with 970mhz even when it artifact with some weird lights on Uningine, all my games run just fine -.- so Unigine can go to hell tongue.gif

Try a couple hours of BF3 on max settings....

Just finished OC my EVGA GTX580 DS Superclocked and I quite like it! So far I managed to get 980MHz on core, 2025MHz(Stock) on memory, and 1960MHz on Shader with 1.088V smile.gif Unfortunately setting the Core to 990MHz will start artifacting frown.gif

I'll post some pics soon...

Did you try a couple hours of BF3 max settings?

Guys I have a very interesting problem with my GTX580.
I can't decide if I should put it back on water or not. The DD block I have for it doesn't want to sell.
Its just sitting in a drawer. I took it off for simplicity's sake, because I test other GPU's often. But now I miss having a super high OC on my card, the silence, and the awesome sub 50C temps on it.
I love the way it looks with the backplate and the reference cooler though.

Don't fret, it's all luck of the draw. I'm sure some people can barely break 900MHz, even at 1.15v.

You should never buy a card for overclocking potential no matter what the marketing team or other users tell you. The only binning that occurs at the GPU level is really between parts (e.g. 570 vs. 580 vs. 590). The GPU cores destined to be 580 undergo no real stratification, so overclocking is always a crapshoot whether you have a vanilla GTX 580 or a MSI GTX 580 Lightning Xtreme or EVGA Classified. I have no doubt there are Classifieds and Lightning Xtremes that clock poorly.

It should always come down to predictable variables like performance out-of-the-box, thermal performance, acoustics and company support.

Here is my EVGA GTX 580 3GB @ 1GHz... on water/EK block temps are amazing and the CPU is on the loop too.

Thanks for the reply, i think i've learn my lesson, is just that i payed a lot for the card (720 US in Argentina) and i was hoping better results with my overclock, after read some reviews or read in other forums about guys with their Lightning's my hopes were pretty high tongue.gif so yeah i'm a little bit frustrated tongue.gif but well maybe i will have better luck in my next upgrade when Nvidia release Maxwell biggrin.gif

Getting ready to start OC'ing the new 580 once the loop gets all the bubbles out. We'll see how far I can push it, hoping for 1000mhz like my platinums did on air. Its an EVGA vanilla so only time will tell.

And post 2500 itt thumb.gif
