[Official] GTX 580 Overclocking Club - Page 262

Hmm, well I gave it a try and it doesn't work well at all. With one at 850 and the other at 950 I get continuous driver crashes about every 30 seconds or so even just at the desktop.

Just run them both at 850, you won't notice a difference.

ahhh, then yes, that kinda does suck - mod the bios to bump up to 1.213V, maybe you'll have better luck

Well whats the max core voltage that should be safe for the Lightning?
I traded my GTX 590 for a single GTX 580 (heat problems in my case) and got a pretty decent OCer I think. At stock 1.075 volts I can get it about 875 core stable. Have not toched memory yet. I have to bump it up to 1.088 to get 900mhz stable in 3dmark11. Odd thing is its stable in everything else to inlcude OCCP, Percision, Unigine and Furmark. I may try for the 900+ again but right now its @ 875.

based on what ive read and come across in the past, 1.15V is the max for 24/7 use if your on air, you'll be fine if you use 1.213V for benches. If youre on water then 1.213V is safe 24/7.

I have the same luck. My card does NOT like 3dmark11, but at the same clocks, will pass EVERY other test.

3Dmark11 seems to be super stressful. When I run it my GPU's pull almost 150w more than any other benchmark. I was pretty surprised to see that. Running furmark, heaven, Vantage, etc my rig pulls ~650w at the wall but 3Dmark11 pushes it up to 790w. Somehow it manages to get away with not setting off the OCP I guess.
