Nope. Actually i didn't want to try that, may sound stupid but 4 slots is a must for me rolleyes.gif But it seems i'm out of solutions for extra (i know meaningless) 40 points so i should give it a try thumb.gif

got this last night

http://3dmark.com/3dm11/2909112

I can get to 980/1960/2200 at +131 on the voltage slider. I can't seem to get any higher than that no matter what voltage, though frown.gif.

Nice OC on your 2500k though. How were your scores at 4.8ghz? I'm curious because that's what my old 2500k did, and I only recently got 3DMark11, so I don't have any data to compare.

I'm going to try to OC my gtx580 as soon as Afterburner finishes downloading. It's doing incredibly slow though.

Thanks smile.gif

and I don't really remember, I have one screenshot saved and it was P7630. That was with 4.8 ghz and my GPU was at 970/1940/2200.

The individual scores were:

Graphics score- 7421
Physics score- 8511
Combined- 8086

I have a gtx 580 with great airflow and plenty of power (corsair 1050w pro), and don't know how or how far to overclock this beast. any suggestions?

Download MSI afterburner. Then you just start raising the core by like 10-15 mhz. Run a stress test. Crysis bench is one of my favorites. 3dmark 11 is great too.

Keep doing this until your bench crashes or you see artifacts. Once that happens drop the core down 5 mhz or so and run again. You have found your max clock on stock voltage. Now you can start raising the voltage a litle and the core.

I personally go am impatient. I put the voltage at the highest I am comfortable with, lets say 1.125v on air. THen set the clock at something I hope to hit, lets say 950 for the 580. Run the bench and go from there either up or down. Then when I find the highest clock. I try to work the voltage down.

Its up to you what you think is a max safe voltage on air. I would say 1.1v is plenty safe. But its your card. Others can chime in my 580 was under water most its life. (Which I ran it at 1.138v)

it really depends on what 580 you have. If you have a lightning, feel free to crank up the voltage smile.gif. I'm not sure what safe 24/7 voltages are, but at +200 on AB with a lightning shouldn't hurt the card for a bench or two.

Thanks!

They're idling around 31-33C (6 to 8 degrees over ambient) and maxing out at 47-48C (about 22C over ambient temps) at the lightnings stock clocks.

Will be overclocking and benching them soon! biggrin.gif
