Have you notice while benching with vantage, 3DMark2011 or unigine even Crysis 2? Is there any abnormal visual? If not then I say go for it smile.gif but if you need to stay really safe then maybe you should stick at 945Mhz. And about memory I agree with your opinion and lightsout thumb.gif

just forgot to add one more question:it seems my card can handle 970Mhz @ 1.150V and run stable on benches too but when i use Evga OC Scanner I am finding artifacts all the way until 945Mhz. What do u guys think about using Evga OC scanner ? Should I realy sit on 945mhz or push it to 970mhz and be cool with it. I am the kind of person which is scared about every litlle tiny artifact but u know +25mhz on core is good too smile.gif

I noticed I could pass 3dmark11 all the way to 980. At 990 I would pass but the score was way low. But I was only game stable up to 950.

I personally don't use OC scanner. I prefer to test with BF3 and crysis bench.

Hey guys! Just got my 580 today!

663
450

Modded with the Antec 620. I want to keep the shroud on it but I'm going to have to check to see if there's enough room for the Antec 620 and then I need to see if there's a way for me to cut it and keep the hoses coming out in the smallest hole possible on it. Make it look great!

I'm having some trouble overclocking...
Granted I'm only using a 600w PSU, I was told and informed that it should be plenty.

Here's my clocks. Let me know if you guys think its right

1.038v --- 820MHz
1.050v --- 830MHz
1.063v --- 840MHz

Now I extrapolated a chart on it and I should be able to determine clocks...
383

What do you guys think? Everything looks right...

600W is enough, I'm running 760W for OC SLI (900 for gaming) and 4.8Ghz 2600k.

What do you mean 'trouble overclocking'? You can try and push it as far as it goes in something like 3DMark11 and then try games until you see artifacts (more than likely need to reduce clocks for this compared to 3DMark11). Temps seem to be a non-issue for you.

Nice starting OC Cakewalk thumb.gif but I think you will not find it straight linear, just go on test it and see it for your self smile.gif at some point it needs bigger volt. Perhaps it will be like curve diagram.

Cakewalk crank that thing up. You have that cooler on it. I would start at 900 and go from there. But maybe that's just me.

So now i have 2 Gigabyte's 580 SoC in SLi but one overclocks better than the other (920 vs 960 @ 1.125)....its better to have the higher overclock card in first slot or its the same?

I notice that in BF3 the first card is allways at 98/99% and the other on 95/96%.

My only hesitation is the reading I get in GPUz of my 12v voltage.... says it goes all the way down to 11.25v. No load voltage is 11.88v. I might bring my multimeter back from Easter break and test out the plugs to see if that's really the case. My guess is there's some offset. Even says in HWmonitor its like 8.6v on the 12v rail...lol

So I'm just taking it cautious right now... I need more VRM cooling though since it's just the stock black metal plate over everything. I want to mod it with the original cover on the GPU and add more heatsinks and keep the blower fan functional but cooling just the memory and VRM. I'll keep you guys updated when I get my heatsinks.

Is the data here gone?

It's almost time to get a cheap 1.5GB card and I want to know about the best clockers.

What prices should I be expecting to pay for a used 580 with transferable warranty? I am going in the market for two used 580s and I want to know what I should expect to pay. Is $350 shipped a fair price for a sed 580? Or should I be asking for a lower price? Obviously a lower price would be better but I want to have realistic expectations.

Also, can someone please link me to 580 SLI performance (fps - min/max/avg) for modern games. Like Battlefield 3, Skyrim, Star Wars The Old Republic, Metro 2033, Just Cause 2, both Batman games, Call of duty, Crysis 2 with HD texture packs and DX11.

Thanks!
