Sure thing!!

Your enthusiasm and persitancy considering your overclocking and results should be an example to everyone

Which is why you are a sure pick for the V.I.P section!

Yes but as posted in the OP I am willing to share my key with anybody that requires one
Just PM me if you need one for either Vantage or 3DMark11

Notice that i put the graphic score not the total score.
Thank you for posting your entry in the correct form!

But of course for members with an existing entry it isn´t mandetory to post updates like this since I only have to change values since your entry is already existing.
It is still appreciated though^^

But every newcomer is strongly advised and asked to post their results in entry format so they can be added faster and more efficiently
Also my hands won´t get bashed so much that way^^

Congratulations you are now 5th place!!!

You have ascended 15 places

Considering your persistant overclocking, constant improvement and never ending enthusiasm I have decided to add you to the Honorary Extreme Enthusiasts V.I.P section

Very nice achievements my friend

Keep it up and try to reach 1GHZ ...you can use my values since with both have lightnings

You have a nice chip obviously so there shouldn´t be any problems with 1 GHZ!

Unfortunately I am trading my 580. I'm happy to have an AMD Benchmark for this card though so other AMD users can compare. Hope it remains there after this 580 is sent away.
You are an honorary member of this Club and Hall of Fame!

You entry will remain here constantly!

Thanks Kung Pow. Very appreciated.

Glad to be part of The Hall Of Fame.

Keep up the good work. I will try to go the 1GHz Level. But probably i will have to low the Memory clock to make it stable.

How does this look? Couldn't get it stable at 970/2200 for some reason.

(Also, is there some way to tweak memory voltage? I swear I did it on my last card but can't find it for this one.)

EDIT: Don't laugh, I haven't had time to change my wallpaper.

First of all I would like to welcome you to this club!!!

You have done quite a nice overclock and shown appreciation and enthusiasm for the overclocking of your GTX 580.

Congratulations, you have been added to the Hall of Fame

You are currently at 7th place

Secondly, Perfect!!

I have sent you the 3DMark11 key so that you can also post 3DMark11 score and complete your entry.

But still people please take an example on this!!

This is the perfect form and required format of an entry post

Thanks! I added the 3DMark11 score btw. I'm going to keep trying to tweak this thang, especially the memory. Now, off to find a stable gaming OC!

I have added your 3DMark11 score

Your entry is now complete and if I might add damn beautiful

Very nice achievement for a newcomer to immediately hit 7th place!!

As for the 970MHZ if I might offer my experience

Normally most 580´s require +1.18 or more at 970 and above.

Of course this is entirely decided by the core but just as a test try to up the voltage to 1.187 I think is the value Afterburner will automatically set when you are clicking in the +1.185 region.

And try 985MHZ this should work fine and stable

Also a nice tip : If you want more stability a lower Memory clock can help ...you will actually only see marginal performance and score gains from a higher Memory clock since this DDR5 Memory boosts away at stock clocks as well

I'm being limited to 1.150V by (I'm guessing) the BIOS on the card, so that appears to be my limit ( can't increase it further in Afterburner). I'm perfectly fine with it though, especially considering I'm running stock reference cooling with stock case fans (for now). I think I may have just gotten lucky with that initial 970 OC, as I haven't been able to reproduce it more than twice.

Finally 1Ghz:
The values are nearly the same as 985. But require a lot more voltage and low the memory clock.

This time i used a custom fan profile that is why the temps are lower.

Due to your 25K Vantage score we can see that your chip is throttling unfortunetly.
Meaning that you have either lost the silicon lottery or that you just have to switch OCP which I would not recommend.

With your 3DMark11 run the clocks are not visible.
Redo 3DMark11 with 1GHZ please.

But other than that pretty nice

You can leave your Mem voltage alone though^^
Try to increase the Core voltage to 1.187 though.

I personally could run stable with 1.187V and 1GHZ

Big props for posting the results in the correct form!
Actually +1 for that !

Try to

I am sorry I was thinking you are running a Lightning.

Lol for a ref card this is an extraordinary achievement!!!!

You are perfectly right your scores are amazing?

Still you can try to modify your CPU/Uncore/RAM overclock and by that get some more scores out of your GPU.

We have experienced here that a higher CPU overclock aids the 580 in most cases.

Be sure to try that
