There must be more to the LN2 switch in my oppinion.
Of course the overclockability is determined by the chip/silicon lottery but I just can´t give up the thought of LN2 mode to improve the overclockability of the card.

I checked it and no the Voltage limit is not risen with LN2 mode.
1.2V in both BIOS.

So a whole mode especially for just a cold bug fix?
Seems kinda odd.
True, hardmodding for cold boot bug doesn't affect the card when running normally with a stock cooler. Maybe the ln2 bios works with afterburner extreme or something where it allows much higher voltages, so someone can't accidentally feed it 1.5V or something when it is on the regular bios.

i played with my lightnings for about 2h today and got a nice score of 8341 on the first one at 980/2275 and 8551 which is nr1 score on hwbot for a gtx 580 on air and that was at 1010/2250, that both at 1.19v at 72c max at the core and 43-36 on vregs and mems

these are my initial runs just to test out the cards limit with a mild cpu oc and on my every day use ram 2m ill do a run at 5500mhz on the cpu and with tighter timings 7-8-7-18 1T at 2133mhz

This is really nice scores. My problems compared to everybody on top of my record is the "Physics Score". You got 1200 more than I do, and I run 100MHz higher on CPU cores, and like 20-30MHz faster on the GPU.

What I see is that people above me uses the Maximus Extreme, and really fast memory. Khalam, do you use CL9 memory and did you tweak timings to get the Physics up so high? I need to find out why mine is so low.

Khalam, you are really benching the hell out of these cards.
I think by now also you have noticed that your sick 26K is doing some groundwork on these scores.

Nontheless your card is absolutely on fire

I would like you to run Vantage and Heaven.
Especially your Heaven score will be interesting because the CPU is redundant in this one.

Still, congratulations to your scores!!!!!

Seeing scores like that I will only be able to update the Hall of Fame until I can beat them

ehh for the moment ive got nothing to really show off in the heaven department a measly 1888points which is second on hwbot for air on a gtx 580

http://hwbot.org/submission/2198952_....79_dx11_marks

vantage is even worse since the top guys on air use 980x and 990xs

32848 points

http://hwbot.org/submission/2198953_...80_32848_marks

but as mentioned before these where my preliminary runs, ill up the cpu and tighten the timmings today

hmm how about having two separate rankings: one for the highest scores and oc regardless of the equipment and second for the highest score with the cpu speed limitation? that way we can show off the scaling with higher cpu frequencies and be able to compare scores at the same clocks as well

First of all I would like to very dearly welcome you to the club

Unfortunetly atm I am unable to update the Hall of Fame.
But don´t worry, hopefully this week my damaged PSU is being RMA´ed and I can be fully back to work on the additions

You see, there have been a lot of ideas and thoughts about the thread.
A lot of new things and modifications that will happen.

I have worked out a couple of new ideas and thoughs about how to remodel the Hall of Fame in order to show more results have a more competetive atmosphere and create more interaction opportunities between our members

Shortly I will call a vote for everybody to decide which ideas we shall keep and which we are gonna leave out.

ATM we are having some problems as you can see but a couple of mods have been notified and he will be taken care of shortly
