Ok, personally, I do not like this 'overkill' frenzy.
The following is what I got in my head...
PSU tends to fail more when ran at higher percent of what it is rated. Is that correct?
e.g
700w from 1000w psu, you running it at 70% load
while it will be 88.5 % load on a 850w psu therefore 850w will die more quicker?

Correct me if I am wrong.

No, it means the HX850 will power 2x GTX 580 with all the OC you can squeeze out of them with stock cooling
