Would you be able to test the ram in another rig?
Put the RAM sticks in one at a time, boot up, see if you're still getting random shut downs. If not, then it's time to start checking other components.

Two questions:

1) Are you getting an actual BSOD, or is it doing a random reboot?

If you're not sure, go into control panel>system>advanced system settings>advanced>startup and recovery>UNCHECK the box that states, "Automatically restart". You can see if there are any bsod codes in your Event Viewer as well. (Administrative tools>Event Viewer>Windows Logs>System>sort through looking at times where the machine shut down. It would show as a critical followed by some "warnings". Under the debugging, you should be able to see the information there.
- It may require you to restart to save these settings, I don't remember for sure.

2) If you are not getting a BSOD and have automatic restart unchecked, what LLC setting are you using?

Extreme can cause an over-current protection fault which would cause your PC to reboot randomly. As this is a hardware-level fault, windows wouldn't have time to log a bsod report, and would just tell you that the shutdown was unexpected. Try setting LLC to 50% for starters and no more than 75% if this is the case. (It depends on your overclock.)

Good luck! thumb.gif

I have a very similar problem, im going to try what HAF wit said when i get home.

i ordered some G SKill sniper RAM for my PC not to long ago, and after instillation my PC simply would shut down after a short term running, seemingly not even under stress (aka basic web browsing not even gaming at all)

The ram in question:
G.Skill Sniper F3-12800CL9D-8GBSR2 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3

I had the RAM RA'd and they tested it, returned it to distributer who tested and all deemed it faulty and a replacement was shipped.

The replacement arrived today and after instillation the same thing is happening.

My PC operates fine with the RAM i have installed

(one of the three models of this, looks exactly the same but cant quite check which one it is from work)
Corsair

When i put my corsair RAM back in there is NO PROBLEMS at all whatsoever.

I havent had both sets of RAM in at the same time as the G skill is 1.25 volts while the corsair is 1.65V

Also no it isnt motherboard imcompatability as im running a GA-P55A-UD4P which is on their list of acceptable motherboards.
The strangest thing im finding is that my PC is literaly shutting off completely, without even BSODing or anything, it literaly just dies in the arse while this RAM is installed.

I have a 850 w PSU aswell, im not sure but could it be faulty or something? i dont know how differnt RAM would affect the PSU especially lower voltage.

Should i go for another RA? or is there some other kind of problem im not seeing?
