seagate barracuda vs western digital Caviar Blue

I want a 2nd HDD for data only, and in case the primary fails

the 3 of these are $36-39, and I'll get it from there at same time as a 6950 and a few other little things...so I don't need sale/price quotes...

Seagate Barracuda (ST3500413AS) 7200 SATA3 500GB 16MB Cache
http://www.xpresscanada.com/index.ph...uct/HDSG002048

Western Digital Caviar Blue (WD5000AAKX) 500GB SATA3 6GB/s 7200RPM 16MB
http://www.xpresscanada.com/index.ph...uct/HDWD001447

Western Digital Caviar Blue (WD3200AAKX) 320GB SATA3 6GB/s 7200RPM 16MB
http://www.xpresscanada.com/index.ph...uct/HDWD001453

so seagate barracuda vs western digital Caviar Blue

and would the WD 320MB be any quicker and/or quieter than the WD 500MB

I use seagate in both of my at home comps but my uncle and grandma both have WD in their's. All of the HD's still work without problems after a year so I guess it's personal preference.

Both of the AAKX drives are 500GB/platter, so I don't think acoustically it will be any different. And comically, the 320GB drive is somehow $1.36 more expensive than the 500GB drive - hilarious.

Out of those, I would go for the WD Blue 500GB.
