Anyway you can pop off the back side panel and let me get a look at how you tackled the cable management. I'm currently in the process to re-organizing my cables and would like to see some examples.

As promised I've done a little bit of exploration into overclocking the cards and running a couple of benchmarks. At first I was running into a strange issue by which one of the cards was running ~10c hotter than the other (when run individually, not in crossfire) - however, since playing with voltages, clock speeds and benchmarks the gap is becoming less and less, to the point where it now is just 4c apart. Perhaps something to do with baking the TIM, who knows.

So far I've managed to stabilise both cards at 1200MHz core @ 1.25v, 1600MHz memory @ stock with a custom fan profile maxing out at 60%. This is with my 2500k overclocked to 4.8GHz. My first 3DMark11 score was with a slightly lower memory overclock,

3DMark11 Performance Preset - 14433;

3dm11performancecrossfi.jpg

I then upped the memory to 1600MHz and managed 14513.

3DMark Vantage - 43085.

Heaven 2.5 Custom Preset;

heavenbench.jpg

75 FPS - 1890 points;

heavenresultsc.jpg

The Crysis and Crysis: Warhead benchmarks never dip below 60 fps so the average on all runs is always 60.

These cards are beasts. I'm surprised at how easy it is to set up Crossfire and overclock too. At first I was a little nervous coming from team green as literally all you do is plug in the card and install the drivers, then you're away. That said, AMD aren't that complicated, it's just something to get used to.

Instead of just having the driver set, AMD have CAPs too, but I got to grips with it pretty quick thanks to TheJesus and Ken 1649 in the 7970 owners club who were a big help to me. Cheers fellas.

It will be interesting to see what Kepler bring to the table, the 7970s really are impressive.

Still, amazing build, especially for a first build!

Thanks for the kind comments - I would love to paint it but in all honesty I don't want to modify the stock coolers in any way in case of alienating the warranty. At least with a vinyl film I can simply peel it off, no harm done!

I decided that I needed that little extra boost in performance so I've purchased a 5.4GHz capable i7 2600k;

Click for full size.

e268d227319.th.jpg

And finally, a Crucial M4 SSD to renovate the build a little;

dsc0409a.jpg

I've also set myself a budget for watercooling which means that unfortunately the Raven will have to go. I plan to move on to an NZXT Switch 810 (in white, of course) with 2x RX360 radiators for some proper overclocking smile.gif

If you were in the US I would trade you my 810 for that case. I was planning on adding WCing, in fact it was the only reason I got the 810 but I ran into some personal things and the project has to be on hold for a bit. Your case was what I was going to with if the WCing didn't work out.

Regardless really excellent job on the build my friend. My first build didn't look nearly as good as yours.

Nice build! You'll love the S810. I recently did a build for my friend with a 420 rad on the top and a 280 rad on the bottom. But I still love my RV02 case and will be adding a 540rad which will replace my RX360. What are you going to do with your RV02?

Thanks dude. Can't wait to get the 810 - I've been reading through the owners club and I think it's a stunning looking thing, not to mention it has pretty huge potential for a nice watercooling setup. I'd like to fit a 360 up the top and another 360 in the front. I reckon it's doable!

The Raven will be sold on - I've looked around and it seems that there aren't any white RV02s left (available to buy new)!

You can def fit a 360 or even a 420. But a 360 in the front wont fit....with out modifications. You'll lose you're hotswap bay and have to chop the front of the case quite a bit to get the 360 to fit. Why not a 240 or a 280 on the bottom front? You can check out my build log below and see what I was able to fit in the S810 to get any Ideas. You can also check out PCModderMike as he installed a 240 in the front.
PCModderMike: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Yeah, they are pretty much sold out. I think Silverstone stop manufacturing the case last April/May? But if you look hard enough, you'll find one....but you'll be paying a lot for it.

Hey Smo!

I was wondering if you ever had any pics of the back of your case (meant behind the motherboard tray). I have the exact same case and I'm trying to figure out how to properly do the cables in the back. I'm planning on getting some sleeved extensions as well but I'm hoping yo can help me out initially to finally come up with a better way than just stuffing all the wires in the back.

Oh yeah, I have a buddy who did a WC setup using a n RV02 as well. He made some mods to it but he was able to fit a couple of radiators in it and it turned out awesome. I could probably try to get some pics of it if you want it. It would be a shame to see your awesome RV02-EW go. It's a good thing I have one! biggrin.gif

Not sure if it is the components or your photography skills but most of the pictures look amazing. Good job!

Sorry for the late reply guys! However I haven't completely forgotten about my rig. Things are happening tonguesmiley.gif

You can check out my build log below and see what I was able to fit in the S810 to get any Ideas. You can also check out PCModderMike as he installed a 240 in the front. PCModderMike: Spoiler! (Click to show) Yeah, they are pretty much sold out. I think Silverstone stop manufacturing the case last April/May? But if you look hard enough, you'll find one....but you'll be paying a lot for it.

Yeah it looks like an amazing case dude - I'm totally sold on the Switch. It's potential seems fairly enormous considering that it can take on the Corsair 800D head on, and be so much cheaper.

I just figured that with 2x RX360s I'd have *that* much more cooling capability. I'd love to have as low a delta as possible - to the point where I'm considering some form of rad box, although as I like things to look nice it'd take a fair amount of custom work.

I'm afraid I don't have any pictures of the back (there's a reason for that which I'll describe below). Do you have photos of your rig currently? I'd be more than happy to talk you through what I did.

I'll miss the RV02 - it's been a great case, but I want to broaden my horizons a little, and learn some new things!
