Really not a fan of more recent EVGA boards due to their pretty poor BIOSes. I'd honestly look elsewhere if you want quad SLI.

Quad SLI sure won't take 2200W either. He'd be fine w/ the power supplies he is currently using.

check out some reviews, they run 244 watts each running stock. At stock that is 976 watts. Have you seen everything he is running in this beast? I suggest re-reading everything, aquacomputer, HD's, pumps x 4, fans x 14+ I forget the total number, if he is going to OC then he 100% will not be ok with 1 x 1200 PSU. So, NO he won't need 2200 watts but if you are going to run dual PSU's I would like to have matching ones, is that needed no, but he sure as heck needs 2.

Recommend PSU for 1 x GTX 580 = 600 Watts, so I would go with 2 x AX1200's and have PLENTY of spare watts to play with.

Maybe he will actually be done this thing by the time SB-E releases. Then he'll have to start over.

My GTX580 Lightning XE @ 950MHz and a 2600k @ 4.73GHz both running folding@home only pulls 410W from the PSU assuming 85% efficiency. He could run 4 whole similar systems to mine and still be under 2000W.

Plus he is using two PSU's already. An AX1200 and an AX850 I do believe.

Scaling in Quad almost not worth it. Plus i myself fancy the R3E more than the EVGA X-58.

Scaling in quad sli is slot better than people think. Specially with multiple screens. Quad sli scaling is better than quadfire x

I think I will be fine for a while. However, if iNTEL comes out with an enthusiast chip, I will build another rig. I have an entire journal from this build and I will be building another CL by the end of the year.

Thanks for all of the tips. This is the second time you have saved my ass! Many thanks.

I have decided to stick with what I have, besides I want to see if this thing will actually work..........

On with the show! I did not really like the look of the filter mount so I had a scotch and this happened....

The filters are not permanently installed, but close.....

Mood shot.....

How about a look under the hood....

The only problem is that the filters will add about 2' of tubing to the CPU and GPU loop. However, I believe that the 4 D5's will be able to handle it.

I will probably paint the mounting plates black to match my floor.

Cheers...

My helper says goodnight...
