Temps?

I'm not sure which modification did it, but after lapping my CPU and simulteaneously doing a high pressure mount mod on the Corsair H100, my load temps dropped about 5-6C. Pretty dramatic, really. Went from around 78C at load to around 70/71ish. I personally think it has more to do with the mount modification on the H100 as I've lapped a lot of CPUs and the benefits are never really that dramatic (usually a degree or two).

The stock mount on the H100 is super loose; the modded mount, however, is super tight:

...

Highly advisable mod for the H100.

Cheers.

*sigh* stupid firmware upgrade for my Gigabyte deleted all of my overclock information.

gotta go back and try to get it back to 4.6Ghz again. I wish that Gigabyte would have had a way to save the bios information.

I switched to intel a couple months ago when I built my latest rig. I was an AMD fan for years until I started looking into the i5 2500k. I liked it and bit the bullet and bought it. I'm extremely impressed by this little beast. With my Asus mobo and my CM v6 air cooler it auto overclocked itself to 4.7ghz. pretty impressive really. I'm sold on intel now.
