Welcome guys *Added you two*

btw: ccexpert, you do not have your OCN name in your Validation. This is a must according to the OP. I've added you anyway.

If you really have no idea what you're doing then basically do this.

Go into your BIOS and look around at the different names.
Generally the CPU overclocking part will either be under CPU or advanced, you'll know you're there when you see a bunch of settings to do with a multiplier (x33 or x[number]) and Base clock (aka Bclk).
Also there will be many voltage options (examples of this would be vcore, PLL overvoltage, and basically anything with the word volt in it or acronym with V in it).
Once you are there set the Base clock (Bclk) to 100.00 (it will be on Auto, use page up and page down to move it, or enter it manually)
Then change the multiplier from Auto to x40. (40x100 will get you 4Ghz).
Once that is done all you need to do is change the CPU voltage (Vcore)
Change it to 1.2500v and it should work fine.

You can then stress test your overclock with Prime95 If you get a bluescreen then slowly increase the voltage by one notch
Thanks for the quick guide, Ill take care of this next time I get my comp up and running. Ill make sure to come ask what I need to focus on when I get up into the 4.5+

Just rearranged the fans in my case and managed to cut 7-10 degrees off my load temps. Apparently my idea of push/pull was more push push. All sorted now though. Maybe I can push this baby further

If you only need 1.27v Vcore for 4.5GHz you can push much further with that CM Hyper 212+. Especially if you keep away from that useless IBT/AVX and stay with Prime95 Blend, which is the one that really counts for stability testing on Sandybridge.

I used to have it at 4.7Ghz at 1.28v but I've just moved into a new flat and my room is like a greenhouse so I reduced the OC. The load temps weren't that much higher but it was taking ages to get back to my usual idle temps after gaming. Thinking of pushing it back up to 4.7Ghz tomorrow at 1.28v again. Can't believe I've had messed up fans all this time

My God... 1.28v Vcore for 4.7GHz.. I assume that is Load volts?

I need ~1.368v (Min. 1.360v) under load (LLC Ultra High) for 4.5GHz And I need 1.43 - 1.45v Vcore for 4.7GHz to be 12 hours + Prime 95 Blend stable.. *Moaning*

Yeah. Think I got a lucky chip. To be honest, I'm only OCing cos I can, not using the power!
