HP Dv 9819WM

Thread Starter
My brother has a HP Laptop model DV 9819WM that he uses for his business, and a few days ago it went into sleep mode and would not boot back up. I checked it out and it appears it has the Nvidia chip overheating problem. I can get it to boot and once signed in the graphics go all messed up on the screen.

I know that all other hardware on the system is good as I checked it out while troubleshooting.

My question is what would this be worth either as a whole or parted out.

Here is a link to the specs page to see what it has.

I appreciate any time and attention to this as I want to give him some kind of ballpark idea of what he might be able to recover from this to put toward a new system.

broken, its not worth much of anything. only parts to remove are ram hard drive keyborad and LCD. everything else is pretty much worthless. someone might buy the case on ebay for like $10

I appreciate the replies, I wonder though what the working LCD would be worth? Its a 17 inch screen and is in good condition. Has 2gb ram chips , and the HDD is a dime a dozen so not worried about that.

I dont feel its worth anything near $300-350..... I guess I was thinking the whole thing might be worth $100-150 minus the HDD.

parted out you MAY see that 100-150 figure, depending on the market for that particular LCD screen
