BOINCers Gone Bonkers 8 thread - Read more and sign up here

A brand new MSI 870-G45 socket AM3 Motherboard is up for grabs (at 8 members signed up), as well as OCZ DDR3 1600MHz ram (at 16 members signed up).

What is the monthly "BOINCers Gone Bonkers" event?
Similar to the Foldathons; this is a 48-hour period where everyone fires up every computer they have, and tries to earn as many credits as they possibly can in an effort to boost our team ranking in both overall ranking and per-project rankings.
It's also a great time to take a break from gaming to increase your credits. Plus, it raises awareness for BOINC and distributed computing as a whole. Getting word out is crucial for the long term stability and success of our BOINC team, and we hope to get some new long term BOINCers in the process.

This month we are going full force in our next steps in the evolution of Overclock.net's BOINC Team. We are currently 35th in the world with a bit over a year under the belt for us. To improve participation for this event, the following is being done starting with this BGB:

Quote:
A new tiered prizing system will be tested out (if we do get prizes of these values)
Prize value $0-$24.99: at least 1,000 credits
$25-$49.99: at least 5,000 credits
$50-$99.99: at least 20,000 credits
$100+: at least 20,000 credits (for BGB8)

Referring a fellow Overclock.net member and getting them to acknowledge this on the signup form will result in you getting 1 extra entry into the prizing draw. (total number of entries allowed is 3 for fairness. 2 for referrals, 1 for yourself signing up). Note that if you have not signed up for BGB8 yourself but have been acknowledged as referred will not give you entries into the event.
Extending from BGB7, for every 8 members signed up, 1 more prize will be added (if there are any in the donate queue)
So check out our BOINC Team, and get in on BOINCers Gone Bonkers 8!

Lets see what wrath can do. Mw@home really heats my room up. (I tried bonicing on the computers that did that best and folded on the computers that did that best, by the end of the month, my house got raided by the police. They thought I was growing weed due to the power consumption.)

Seriously? Wow. Wonder if soon, cops are going to be saying "Dispatch, it was just another BOINC user. No need for alarm"
