What is the monthly "BOINCers Gone Bonkers" event?
Similar to the Foldathons; this is a 48-hour period where everyone fires up every computer they have, and tries to earn as many credits as they possibly can in an effort to boost our team ranking in both overall ranking and per-project rankings.
It's also a great time to take a break from gaming to increase your credits. Plus, it raises awareness for BOINC and distributed computing as a whole. Getting word out is crucial for the long term stability and success of our BOINC team, and we hope to get some new long term BOINCers in the process.
This month we are going full force in our next steps in the evolution of Overclock.net's BOINC Team. We are currently 35th in the world with a bit over a year under the belt for us. To improve participation for this event, the following is being done starting with this BGB:

A new tiered prizing system will be tested out (if we do get prizes of these values) Prize value $0-$24.99: at least 1,000 credits $25-$49.99: at least 5,000 credits $50-$99.99: at least 20,000 credits $100+: at least 20,000 credits (for BGB8) Referring a fellow Overclock.net member and getting them to acknowledge this on the signup form will result in you getting 1 extra entry into the prizing draw. (total number of entries allowed is 3 for fairness. 2 for referrals, 1 for yourself signing up). Note that if you have not signed up for BGB8 yourself but have been acknowledged as referred will not give you entries into the event.
