Whats the best 500watt card you can get? - Page 5

100%. Don't do a BIOS flash, you can soft-mod 2Gb 6950 reference cards to unlock shaders, but that's all you should do. Broken recored, but you can run any single GPU out currently, but IMO, a flashed 6950 2Gb is the best deal, although the GTX 580 is faster.

Ok, thank you. I wont mod anything or overclock anything if i get the HD6970. I guess it will run every game maxed out @ 1440x900 resolution? Yes, i have a crappy monitor.

I think your PSU can handle the GTX 570 or maybe an 6970 too !! 560 Ti is still a pretty good card

A 650w PSU will handle an i5 2500k and GTX 580's in SLI. So your excellent 520w will EASILY handle a single GTX 580, even the 3GB models.

Seriously, pick ANY single GPU card you want. It'll run GREAT off your PSU. Even a GTX580. And yes it'll fit. You've got 11" of clearance. A GTX580 is only 10.5", might even be less. It was the same length as my old 4890 AND 4850.

Oh, you can overclock it, just don't try to do a full 6970 flash. Unlock shaders, and go nuts. But if you don't have a set limit on how much you can spend, a 6970/580 will dominate at 1440x900, and give you a reason to at least make the move to 1080p.

I have a SeaSonic M12II 520Watt power supply.

Note: I've seen this one, is pretty good. EVGA GeForce GTX 560 Ti Superclocked
GTX 560 Ti for sure. Definitely Ti though and not a none-Ti.

Best card out right now, it's the new GTX 460 (obviously) and I love it.

My dad just got one, plays Crysis at max without lag so he's happy.

You use almost any single card, except perhaps the dual chip cards. Go out and buy an MSI 6950 Twin Frozr III, they are very cool and quiet, overclock really well, and will max out nearly every game at your resolution.

I was running 2x OC'd 470GTX on my 620w Enermax. I also have watercooling and a lot of fans. As well as 5 HDDs.

So, I think you should be fine running any single card out there. However, for duals I wouldn't recommend more than two 6950s. It seems that ATI cards use a lot less power.
