My Logitech G400 review - Page 25

thanks for the pic. i'll sand off the lip of my g400 soon. it's getting annoying day by day.
That lip is the only reason I am able to use the g400 and the reason I switched to the mx500 over the MS Intellimouse 3.0 long ago.
Without it I wouldn't be able to lift the mouse all the time. It would just want to fall out of my small hands like the MS3.0 and Deathadder (I hate that shape so much). I suppose sanding it off is for the people that want to play at rediculously high dpi levels and never lift the mouse frown.gif

I hate big palm mice but the manufacturers decided they didn't want to make small sensible 5 button mice with good sensors and the ability to change dpi (at least until the g300). The g300 while having almost everything I want.... has the flared out backside of the mouse that makes it annoying and unbalanced for me to pick up frown.gif.

Ok, so I just want to share my experience with g400.
I'm a Quake player and as you guys know or maybe not... to aim well in this game you need as much perfect mouse as you can afford. Basically I've tried a lot of mice in my life, but in the end I finished up on a WMO 1.1a, Abyssus and g400. In my opinion as a hardcore gamer (think I can name myself like that, I play a lot of games), I think theese are the best mice you can get now, really. Some time ago I had to choose one of this mice (can't use 3 at one time unfortunately : P). It was a hard decision but I finished on g400. It's the best mouse for me. I was very satisfied with it's performance so far.

Unfortunately, the cable in my g400 broke. Burt I wasn't really distressed because I've been reading so much good stuff about logitech's warranty support. I just wrote an e-mail to Polish logitech support and basically they did rest. The DHL courier came to my doors two days later and picked my package with a mouse. They were informing me about everything and it ended up on a mail in wich they told me that they can replace my mouse with a new one mine version (older one) or the newest without prediction. They asked me wich one I want them to send me. Ofcourse I set I want the newest one. After two days I've got my new g400 without prediction.

just want to point that the logitech's support is unbelivable good...

If anyone is wondering about to buy g400 just do this. It's very good, flawless mouse. If shape suits you, there won't be any other problem.

p.s. sorry for my english, I'm still learning
cheers

@SaltedSlug

Really don't understand how you came to the conclusion that ridiculous high dpi levels are being used. I prefer to use 400/800 dpi while gaming, and I use 1000 dpi while doing general computer work.

Sanding the lip off is for people that want to grip with the ring finger whenever, or just let it dangle off the side of it. With the lip in the way, my ring finger will be sore very fast. I can lift just fine when I need too because my ring finger and pinky help do it. The same way I would lift using a G1, ring finger and pinky.

just got my g400, its excellent. the dry surface is a huge improvement over the mx518. also feels smoother, and of course 1000Hz polling rate. very happy thumb.gif

hey guys

everytime i rest my g400 for leme say 20min on the mousepad, it makes a "clack" sound out of the shell when i try to lift up for example when i move the mouse in any direction.
that "clack" doesnt happen as long as my hand is on the mouse. its like the shell is knida movin but i cant actualy feet it rattle or wobble !
the "clack" sound disappear when i use the mouse then ! it doesnt annoy me cuz its only when i try to move after a pause ; / can u guys listen to your mouse real quick ? hmmmmm

I dont think i have that... but after buying the g400 i realize how cheap and garbage the plastic is... i mean all mice is but my xai for example does not feel so cheap like my g400.

I've got a question for everyone, I'm looking to buy replacement feet for my G400 and was looking at Hyperglides, thing is they don't actually sell feet that are "confirmed" for the G400, should I be ordering ones for the MX518v2 or for the G500/G5/G7 ?

also, does anyone know the Hyperglides' thickness ?

thanks

Get the feet for the 518v2, the g5's feet are sized differently.
I believe Hyperglides are 0.8mm thick if the packages for some Hyperglides I have are correct.
