I've hit 4.2 GHz with a 975 x4 and had it running fairly well and it is a 125 w chip, however I guess it's a quad core.

Bulldozer is an epic failure. People with x6 keep what u have. Its more of a lateral move. Dam! Reviews are out.

What about BIOS and CPU drivers

And it's not an epic fail. People on this site are too damn melodramatic.

DO NOT overclock an 8150 on a 4+1 motherboard, you will take you PC to hell, and it might not make it back. The new FX chips might OC well, but it comes at a price - lots and lots of wattage, so be on the lookout.

Did you look at the power draw overclocked? Slower than x6 in many things? Really not drastically better in gaming. Why would you purchase it if your already have an x6? You may be able to optimize drivers some, but overall this is seen as a flaw in design. They would have been better off taking Thuban to 8 cores with a die shrink. Amd is in a ****load of trouble. With intel lower end chips like the 2300 putting a squeeze on their lower end. Amd is losing ground on all phases. Desktop and Server. Im going to wait for next stepping. First gen is a nogo.

Calm down bro.

It's just a CPU.

True, but i went from 965be to x6 with the upgrade to bulldozer in-mind. I wouldn't have bought an am3+ board knowing what i do now. I feel punked. Literally. Amd promised increase, but this really isnt it. I've been amd cpu wise back to my athlon 6200+ days. I could've pulled the trigger on that great price-match deal for 2500k at fry's. Oh well. I'm just gonna enjoy this great asrock board, and wait it out for next stepping of bulldozer. And invest in new power supply(as many people may need to). My bfbc2(mostly intel k series) buds are already giving me **** at this hour of morning.

END OF RANT.

I'm still sad with the outcome of the reviews. Might as well keep my current rig for a while but I'll probably go ivy bridge on my next upgrade if they(AMD) don't fix BD or release a better one.

An entire system with an overclocked 8150 pulls 400 watts. We went over this yesterday.
