Need some advice.
I have an ASROCK 990FX Extreme4 board with an AMD FX-8320.
I OC'd including the CPU freq. which raises the ram speed too.
I had CORSAIR Vengeance 16GB (2 x 8GB) 1600 CMZ16GX3M2A1600C10
which of course was running higher than 1600 due to my OC. I hit a stability wall and was thinking since my board runs up to 2000 OC I'd get faster RAM.
So I got CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 2133 CMZ8GX3M2X2133C9R
when it was only $59 on a shell shocker deal.
Well, it cured my stability and increased most of my bench marks BUT I cannot get it to boot at anything higher than the 1600 setting in the BIOS.
It runs OC 1616, 1624 and so on but even if I run the CPU at stock 3.5GHZ and all stock voltages and bus speeds it will not boot at 1866.
I tried every timing I can find and left a message on the Corsair forum asking for advice but only replies say use timings on the chips (duh!).
Can someone recommend a 2x4GB, 1866 or 2000+ speed, low CASS (9) set for my board? The ASROCK recommended memory guide is rather sparse for 1866 and above, only lists 2GB sticks (seriously, only 2G chips?) and ignores Corsair.
I prefer Corsair.
Surely I'm not the only one seeking this wish.
