"You failed to boot in the last few attempts....."

ASRock 990FX Extreme 4

I had updated to the latest official 2.0 BIOS and was overclocking and tweaking my FX-8350 for a few weeks.
Had it to 4.669 stable with RAM OC'd 2164. HT2600 and NB 2200.

I don't know what happened, but one day I kept getting an untrue "you failed to boot...loading UEFI defaults" and it would set itself to all auto settings and dump my RAM to 1333. ***? I hadn't failed to boot???? I kept loading my saved stable profiles. Still it said I failed to boot last boot - which was not true! Then loaded all auto defaults.
I tweaked downward on everything, Swapped RAM, you name it. No dice.

Finally I decided I either fried something over-volting or my BIOS was in a funk. Well if I fried something - what's done is done.
So with nothing to lose I Flashed the 2.01B BETA Bios. No feature it added meant anything to me. I just wanted to test my BIOS hick-up theory.
BINGO! Issue solved!
I reset all my OC profiles and I am back in Overclock heaven!

So if any of you get in this endless loop I am sharing my solution.

I had a problem like this with a BioStar Motherboard updated the bios and had a few problems where some times it wouldnt detect my SSD so had to downgrade the bios for everything to work propaly again so I if you haver no problems dont upgrade the Bios unless you have to.

Does anyone know if this ram will work with the ASRock 970 Extreme3? I looked on their website for list of combatible modules and the one I linked wasn't listed.

Dont see any problems with that RAM it looks okay and should run fine as its with in the specs the Motherboard supports.

Yes. and i hear from my friend Jon. that he is in touch with AsRock support and they are working on some BIO's updates for 9?0's etc [adding ram types] and something about raid controllers for ssd's.
