steam problem.

i just checked my rig and i had a message from steam saying that i was loged in elsewhere.

i try to change my password but steam guard is not sending me the email with the code when they are usually instantaneous.

should i worry? anything i could do?

go to settings check where the e-mail is directed to, if the e-mail is still urs then there is no doubt you will get a confirmation code to change your password.

But if you have steam guard enabled chances are if someone gained access to your account they have access to your e-mail as well.

So use another computer change your e-mail password and steam password immediately.

The being logged in somewhere else maybe worrying. But it sounds like you have steam guard enabled? If so then it should be fine unless your e-mail was compromised (steam requires e-mail verification to change account info) Does anyone know your login? Brother/friend/etc? I know my little brother would log into my account every now and then to play one of my games.

In regards to Steam Guard e-mails I spent a good 3-4 hours locked out of my account today trying to get one. Every time it asked for the code I didn't get a e-mail. Finally it worked a few hours later. I think their system is just overloaded with the steam sales - I temporarily disabled SG for now.

if someone else accessed his account then its likely his e-mails been compromised as well otherwise there would be no way to bypass the steam guard verification, for the first login on a different pc.

make sure you change your e-mail password on another device incase someone has hijacked your computer, with a trojan

when the possible hijacker logged in with my account, he should have gotten a steam guard email on my hotmail account, that steam guard email is not there (of course he could have deleted it, but just saying).

still no steam guard email for my password change.

email pasword changed.

is there any possibility that steam says that i logged in elsewhere and that not being true?

Nope. A window pops up the instant you log in elsewhere.

If it lessens you paranoia, open up a support ticket with steam.

Though, if it were me, I would open one cause I've had my account hijacked before by some Russian dude and it all started the same way you described in your 1st post. Eventually, I couldn't log in and waited 3 days to get back access to my account (stupid weekend).

just changed both my passwords, for my email and for steam....

i guess ill run avira and malwarebytes right now...

my paranoia runs deep! if i see anything strange with my account again ill open a steam support ticket.

Alert some of your friends that are always on, get them to keep an eye out and check for confirmation you are the one using the account.
