Aquaero 5 XT

I'm liking this thing so far but I can't find a definite answer on whether or not you can control a pump (MCP655) and 4-8 fans with it straight out of the box.

It depends if your pump has a tach sensor on it. If it does, there is a Tach port on the A5.

As for fans, that's dependant as well on how you set them up and the voltage necessary for each. I have 4 fans running on mine right now with the 4 fan headers. You can attach an additional 2 via the Relay contacts on the back (need to order relay headers for your fans).

You can split them too, so you can have multiple fans on each channel as long as it doesn't exceed 1Amp.

I just got my aquaero 5 XT yesterday. I immediately hooked it up to two NB 140mm on one channel through a 4-way splitter and two Corsair 200mm on another channel through a 2-way splitter. Works fine. The fan amps do run toasty though: the aquaero was reporting ~140F. Also Shoggy has confirmed that the aquaero should even handle 4 140mm fans on one channel through a splitter. I haven't tried this yet though.

Ok cool. Also I saw the poweradjust 2 controller. But the description on it is mostly German frown.gif. I want to take a guess and say that it's dedicated specifically for pumps? Or am I wrong?

The PowerAdjust 2 is an actual device that you can plug into the Aquaero. it provides more power to fans and the like.

Ah ok. My pump is a Uber 655 from PPCs. It came with the Koolance CTR-SPD10 Pump & Fan Speed Controller. I'm guessing that won't work with the A5 though, right?

It is the same pump, a Swiftech MCP655 and it will work the A5. However, you will not need the CTR.

Yeah I figured. Ok so cool I can just plug it right in the A5? Should I get an extension cable as well? We both have the TH10 so yeah. Also what 2-way splitters to you guys recommend to get so I can control 8 fans?

A couple of questions; 1. Are you using a PA? 2. Are you H20 cooling your A5?

You will need a few extension cables, especially if you have the pedestal. I have so many splitters, I purchased mine from Aqua, some 2 way and some 3 & 4 way. Yikes i have too much gear.

1. No, should I be?
2. No

I'm choosing to go with only 2 way splitters for less heat. But yeah don't have a pedestal.
