aw just saw on xtremesys that you killed it tongue.gif too bad I was looking forward to your thermal tests with air/water smile.gif I think one of those Italian/Russian reviews showed there was little difference between the waterblock and the passive radiator with some airflow over it?

I run mine with

cha 1 3*140 YL low speed - cha 2 3*120 NB low speed - cha 3 6*140 YL Med (1200 rpm) - cha 4 80mm Be-Quiet PWM

the 80mm fan on channel 4 is aimed at the Aquaero and set to a control the VRM temps to a max of 65c or 75c depending on the profile. Works great! but I was thinking about adding 9 more 140 fans to the other side of my rad in the future, and I don't really like that waterblock in terms of ergonomics smile.gif

also I read on their German forum that sometime next year they will release some Aquacomputer version of the D5 ? So it can be controlled over usb/Aquaero 5 like their current Aquastream (Eheim based) pumps (of which I just bought a 2nd tongue.gif) ... would save the need for a PA2 smile.gif

Now all I need to do is finish installing the CCFLs...

Frank, I managed to install LCDHype, the update, and the Aquaero plugin. I successfully ran a demo which displays correctly in the preview area, but how do I write it in aquaero's memory ?

Yep, it couldn't handle my abuse (hot swapping pump loads and pegging the thermal limiter repeatedly). But what the heck, it was in the name of science!biggrin.gif

I may buy an LT and carry on later, but that's all I've got for now.

Figured I could still test the waterblock's hydraulic restriction to complete that portion:

I don't have a clue as I don't use LCDHype, you'll have to hit shoggy up on that one..

That's awesome, good to know that there is little restriction on this block.. I kind of guessed it when taking it apart and looking at in when it first came in through my door, upon taking it apart, I notice's it's a pretty simple block, I just didnt have the equipment to test it with.

Do you have one of those Aqua Computer in line filters? I think those will cause a bit of restriction..

No I don't, but I would think any filter would be fairly high. It's pretty hard to tell visually sometimes though, I would have thought motherboard blocks would be low in restriction, but skinnee tested a round that pointed toward extreme restriction. The smallest opening size is one factor, but the number of parallel flow paths offsets that.

I've been fooled too many times trying to guess, but you can get a decent feel by simply blowing through the ports and comparing the resistance that way to some known block or item. A bit crude, but it does work to give you a sense of restriction.

Re: what is this USB LCD Page on the information page?
Hello,
this screen shows the data from LCD Hype. You can download the plugin for it here.
Place the plugin into the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\LCDHype\controller (or wherever you have installed it). Go into the settings and activate the aquaero as driver. Create a new script and start it. When the aquaero jumps to the USB LCD page it will display the output from LCD Hype.
Please note that the plugin only supports the GFX mode. An example script to display the time:
Code:
%Graph.Font('FixedSys', 9, 1)%Graph.SetTextArea(0, 0, 255, 63)#Header
/ insert header code here /
#EndHeader
#TextMode
/ insert textmode script code here /
#EndTextMode
#GfxMode
/ insert gfxmode script code here /
  %Graph.SetTextArea(0, 0, 255, 63)
  'Time  -> ' %System.GetDateTime('hh:nn:ss')
  %Graph.Rect(50,20,200,50,1,1)
#EndGfxMode
Of course you do not have to create everything yourself. There are more than enough scripts and other plugins to visualize almost everything.
kind regards
Sven

I just got my aquaero 5 and first wanted to have winamp equalizer displayed on it soo bad but nothing is working. I try the above steps and everything looks good and might look like it's working but it does not display anything on the screen.

Can anyone point me in the right direction how to make lcdhype work to display winamp? Maybe it does not work because I upgraded to the latest firmware, or there is a newer driver.

Any help appreciated,

Thanks!

Hi, I've had that issue too... it's usually something silly, just go trough the setup steps again (that's what I did) and you should have it working in no time.
Would you mind sharing the script? I'd love to have the equalizer too!

Sure, here is below. So the steps that I have right now are. Please post any corrections or if anything can be done better. This is outcome of hours and hours of try and error thumb.gif

1. Install WinAmp, full edition not the Lite
2. Copy the WinAmp addin from LCDHype install folder C:\Program Files (x86)\LCDHype\stuff to winamp install folders d:\Program Files (x86)\Winamp\Plugins
3. Open winamp and click on the wavy icon on the top left corner and select vizualization and select plugin. Pick data collector. This will pass the information to the dll.
4. Open LCDHype 0.7.5 (get the drivers coppied for Aquaero to the LCDHype C:\Program Files (x86)\LCDHype\controller)
5. In LCDHype under configuration pick the Aquaero from the list
6. Paste the code and click on RUN

Now on your Aquaero switch to the LCD page screen and you will see beautiful equlizer playing to you beat!! If anyone wants to see it I can upload youtube smile.gif

Code:
%Graph.Font('FixedSys', 9, 1)
/%Graph.SetTextArea(0, 0, 255, 63)/
#Header
%Param.RenderMode(Simple)
%Param.FastWrite(1)
#EndHeader

#TextMode
#EndTextMode
#GfxMode
%LCD.Gfx_SetOverlayMode()
%WinAmp.SpecAnalyzer(FFT, PeakedBars, 255, 63, 50, 5, 0.5, 2, 1, 0, 0)
  /'Time  -> ' %System.GetDateTime('hh:nn:ss')/
  /%Graph.Rect(50,20,200,50,1,1) /
#EndGfxMode
