And do you think water is worth it for GPU and chipset? I don't plan on overclocking the GPUs too much, and that zalman fan should keep them at a nice temp.
Heh... I just happened on it looking around FrozenCPU.com, I try not to look too much at the phase stuff, otherwise I'll end up buying one

Do I think water is worth it for the GPU? YES!!!!! I'm seeing better gains from the cooling of my video cards than I did from the CPU. The X1900's make a good amount of heat, and they respond GREAT to watercooling.

Only the best

I'm only using the single card version, though. This one's a ready-to-run Crossfire version.

I'm not so sure you need to get more than 2 raptors. I would just get 2x raptor 150's and RAID0 them - and have a second normal 7200rpm 300GB HDD to backup your stuff too - OR - to hold other large files that dont need exceptional performance (for example, video, audio, game ISO's, install files). If that's still not going to be fast enough you could have 4 raptors and do 0+1 though its twice as expensive, and as you say, its not a big deal if the RAID fails - which is very unlikely anyway.

Quad-SLI's only benifiting game is FEAR. In all the reaviews of Quad-SLI I've seen, they all conclude Quad-SLI is a waste of money - unless you are OBSESSED with FEAR and want to pay twice as much for your graphics card setup just so it plays a few FPS more (*cough* fear gets boring fast *cough*).

If your willing to put your current 1900 into the new computer, get a crossfire edition card for it as well. Then when DX10 cards are released, get one and you will have one godly gaming computer.

CPU: X6800 - $1100
Mobo: P5W dh deluxe- $270
Ram: G Skill DDR2 1066 - $490
GPU: X1900 CF + X1900XT - $820
Sound: Creative- $100
PSU: 1000w- $500
Case: Armor- $170
Cooling: Prommy mach 2 GT phase change+kit+lcd- $1060
HDD: Raptor 150GB x2- $600
Opticals: 2 DVD drives. - $100
Arctic silver 5+windows XP - $145
X1900 Tyee water blocks- $250
Cooling system: ?$150-?250

Wow it still fits in the $6000 bracket haha. Shipping will probably bump it a bit over but oh well.

BTW thank you guys you have helped me out eminently. But I still have questions

1. How much a difference will I see between dual zalman fans and dual Tyee water blocks? I'm not sure all this liquid cooling stuff is worth it when I am only cooling video cards.

2. I don't know anything about liquid cooling, what do I need to buy? I'll ask on water board too.

3. Are those $250 water blocks worth it? That brings my crossfire expense from 800 to almost 1100. Unless the waterblocks work with DX10 cards, it's just a direct investment into the cards, which are already scheduled for replacement by DX10.

Why so many cooling systems? You have what 4. I dont think you need that many. The x1900xt are fine with air cooling. Also you can get 2 dvd burners for 70$.

There are other high power PSUs that are worth looking at. This Tagan pushes 900W and has four 12V rails of 20A each and a total max output of 72A on those 12V rails, which is more than the PC Power & Cooling. Also, it's considerably smaller (170mm long instead of 230mm for the PC Power & Cooling - that's more than 2 inches shorter), and cheaper at $349.99 on Newegg (unfortunately out of stock right now):
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817101014

Also, consider the 750W PC Power & Cooling for $199. A single 12V rails boasting a thundering 60A (just 6A less than the 1KW PSU they have). And, at a length of 180mm, it's 2 inches shorter than the 1KW beast.
http://www.pcpowercooling.com/produc...hp?show=S75EPS

And finally, this bomb also looks pretty darn good! Combined non-modular (including 2 PCI-E, 3 SATA, and 3 Molex connectors) and modular (for about a million other connectors). Unfortunately, just 10mm shorter (or less than 1/2 inch) than the PC Power & Cooling 1KW PSU. 75A over five 12V rails. The only issue I have with it is that it's designed with dual CPUs in mind, thus there are two rails dedicated for two CPUs, total 34A (new EPS12V standard) and three other rails for all the rest, total 41A.
http://www.enermax.com/english/produ...y1.asp?PrID=60
can be bought here for $339.99: http://www.axiontech.com/prdt.php?it...ca7e0ecd1d7cf5

PC Power & Cooling really needs to drop prices on their 1KW giant.. competition is real, and cheaper

Nay.. that armor already has enough fans. Besides the 250mm giant, it has all these:
Quote:
Cooling System
80mm Fans No
90mm Fans 1 x 90 mm Rear Fan (Exhaust 1800rpm ,19dBA)
1 x 90 mm Top Fan (Exhaust 1800rpm, 19dBA)
120mm Fans 1 x 120 mm, Front Blue LED Fan (Intake,1300rpm, 17dBA)
1 x 120 mm, Rear Blue LED Fan (Exhaust,300rpm, 17dBA)
I assume the last one is a typo, and should be 1300rpm as well.

What do you think about my PSU suggestions? I think spending $450 on the PC Power & Cooling is wasting at least $100, and likely even $250. I would take a serious look at that other PC Power & Cooling, or the Tagan.
