I'm thinking about naming this the "The Locker" in inspiration of your comment.. you know safe--locker.. seems logical..

the deltas are a bit complicated.. I've done so many tests on this test bed that I know my cpu has a 25ºc dt from heat spreader to core. also I know my designs have about a .10 thermal resistance in the design. So I take the water temps + wattage of cpu+tecwasteheat * .10 to get the thermal resistance and add it to the water temp. Then I take a reading off the cpu and subtract 25ºc to get my ihs value.

So water temp + Thermal resistance - IHS value should get my tecs dt value.

So values change based on water temps which are based on ambient temps and the radiators & fans cooling the tec.

So, to oversimplify things, what do software temperature readings say?

I edited the above abit.. but in essance.. I can't give you an exact number but I can give you an example..

Take ambient at 20ºc. lets say your radiators and fans can do a dt of 5ºc of ambient ( 2 tripples in my case)..

I need to cool about 550 watts @ 5ºc with rads and fans.. so two triples can do that.. that puts water temps about 25ºc.. thermal resistance of 550w is 550*.01 or 5.5c.. so the hot side of my tecs would be about 30.5ºc..

now my dt of the waterblock is 40ºc at stock so that puts my ihs at -10ºc..

Add 25ºc for the cpu to heat spreader dt.. and we have a cpu temp at about 15ºc..

Again.. its all about radiators, fans and ambients to figure where the cpu cores will sit with this block..

so as I said I'm getting about 40ºc dt at stock and about 28c at 4.2ghz with an I7 920

Hope this helps..

Your always just tooooo cool.. I still love your tec vs water pump chart post!!!!

That just made it all too easy to relate!.

Going to assume it is a solid piece of copper until stated otherwise - hopefully some more pics will follow with the tecs removed
