Man, you got awesome skills, I also own a cm 690 2 advanced 3.0. I really like your modification. esp the part where you install 3 fans on the front. I've been thinking about this ever since I got my case. Now I know how to do it. Thanks man. Hope you have another update. Really like your mod with pictures

Hi to those who might read this. It is nice to see that my thread is still being visited smile.gif

I am still alive, but have been having personal problems which I would rather not talk about. I have done some modding work on the rig in the last year and I will try to post the pics that I have of that in the coming days. As for assembling the computer: it has been residing in my spare 690 II for quite a while now, but my intentions are to once again move the rig into my "actual" case. As for what needs doing: I believe that I still need some extra black sleeving for my graphics card cables. Said graphics card cables still have to be cut and crimped as I want to do a custom job on those. I also have to make a custom SATA power cable. In all likelihood I will pick up on more things that need doing as it has been a long time since I have looked at my mod.

Bye for now smile.gif

So the last post was a bit of a false alarm, but I have returned with pictures smile.gif I realise that there was not a lot of work to be done to the system as it was last seen, but I disassembled the computer and it resided in my spare case for quite a while. I did however do some modding here and there ...

Lets start with the PSU:

There was residue left over by the "warranty voided ... " sticker and I botched the removal of the residue. I cannot recall how I tried to remove the residue, but it didn't end well and left the housing looking like this:

While I sorted out the housing I started sleeving the cables:

All of the additional material that was added to the cables made it necessary to make the opening larger. I added some rubber u-channel to the opening and after sleeving the PSU looked like this:

Lets move on to cables:

I made a new set of cables for the graphics card, but I didn't make any pictures of those. However, here is the cable that I put together for the pump and the three front fans:

Where the proper connecter with the small piece of white heat-shrink is for the pump. I made another cable for the radiator fans, but for this cable I decided to have the option for 5v, 7v and 12v. So, I took sleeved up the 12 volt, ground and 5 volt connectors on the PSU side:

Split them up, sleeved and heat-shrinked:

A new SATA power cable:

As can be seen, I have mounted the SSD on the side of the drive bays. The perspex that the SSD is mounted to is held in place by the fasteners used for the reservoir like this:

The other side of the drive bay also got a piece of perspex:

A few pics of the reassembled computer:

In order to finish it off from here I need to sort out the SATA data cables. I will probably have to butcher some cables to shorten them if I want to make it neater than it is now. I also have to sleeve the graphics card power cable and the SATA power cable. The wrinkle with that is that I have very little black sleeve left, so I will have to source some more. Other than that I need to clean the dust and finger prints from the case and perhaps remove the stickers from the RAM. Then I can say it is done biggrin.gif

@okqingfeihu: You planning to mod a 690?

@Frontside: You are correct, it is Titanium MKII. I now have white, black, red and grey MDPC sleeve to work with.
