EDIT: As of now thanks to Snoopy's list i'm gonna try some alternatives so i can get rid of this contraption.

toward security. Without it or weak policies makes a firewall weak. Not because its a dedicated or a single user software firewall. Hardware is only as good as the software that runs it. A hardware firewall is run by software as well.
