W860CU Motherboard burnt, need help.

Hey guys,

I couldnt find another section that made me think of people that have knowledge about the delicate motherboard parts.

I just arrived back from spain, and wanted to boot my laptop.
When i booted it, i got the bios screen etc, but all of the sudden it started to smell reall bad, and a light smoke came out of my exhaust @ my CPU.

It scared the hell out of me and i went and opened my laptop.
This is what i found:

1 of those grey blocks where burn loose and dropped on the plastic cover of my laptop o_O

Whats on the block: 9same as the one still there)
c(the c is very small) R36
J125-01

WHAT Should i do?
Should i try to solder it back on? or where can i get a new one? It seemed only that specific block near my CPU was damaged.

any help is welcomed!

You could try and soulder a new one on but the chances are its going to of messed up the whole board plus its also burnt the 2 little grey chips to the right of it and they will need replacing.

The question is, can you get a replacement board for a few £/$

The 2 chips at the right arent burnt, theyre just colored by the smoke oxidation. Looking up close they look perfectly fine.

And where can i get a replacement chip?

It's an inductor also called a choke. Something like this: http://search.digikey.com/scripts/Dk...1040-R36MCT-ND

Clean up that board with some acetone or alcohol. Does look like one of the smaller mosfets has a burnt spot. They leave a little circle on top when they blow.
