Did I do the vdroop right? I set 1.45v in bios and shows up as 1.376v in windows for my e6600 @ 3406 b2 stepping. I want to be able to set 1.35 in bios and have it set as 1.35 in windows

That's actually vDrop. I mean, vDrop is what creates the idle voltage as seen in the operating system. I don't know how to get the idle voltage to be exactly the same as it is in the BIOS (I don't know how to eliminate or reduce vDrop), but if you did the vDroop pencil mod, then you should see little to no change in the voltage when putting load on the CPU. In other words, vDroop is what creates the voltage seen while the CPU is under load. I mean, the vDroop pencil mod should either reduce or eliminate vDroop, which is the difference between the idle voltage and the full-load voltage.

I do remember that there is a resistor on the board that can be coated in #2 pencil lead (in the same way as the one for vDroop) which helps to reduce the vDrop and I did actually cover it as best as I could back when I had the EVGA 680i SLI, but it didn't make any difference.

Yeah, I don't blame you! Plus, it's not 100% safe for these boards.

That mod is to null the drop in voltage when going from idle to load.

Did a pencil mod on my P5NE-SLI and it worked great.

What is your FSB voltage at? These nForce boards need high voltages, and so I recommend a higher FSB voltage (try 1.4V if you haven't already). It might help allow you to use a slightly lower core voltage.

Anyway, that's not bad considering 3.6GHz is 1.2GHz above stock. I mean that's pretty significant for Core2.
