Thank you sir, setting this baby to 700MHz it creeped around 80-82c on air at 85% fan speed. Completely one of my goals and I have you to thank for that

Its really no biggy Anybody who uses Nibitor knows that, I just was kind enough to donate to Mvktech.net so I have access to one that works with 590s.

@All
I have a power draw theory!

Furmark, Kombustor, Crysis 2 DX11 + HD Patch, and 3DMark11/Vantage are on PDL 1.

Heaven, Shogun 2, BlackOps, and a few other titles are on PDL2.

PDL 3 is a safe mode, triggered by drivers (not hardware) and forces you to power state 2, for the duration of whatever is stressing it to the extreme pass the PDL limit. This is what I believe was added with drivers, after reviewers managed to kill their cards.

PDL 1 has a max overclock and voltage! Anything over the PDL causes invisible performance decrease.

PDL 2 does not hinder overclocks and voltages under 1.063v it seems.

PDL 3 forces you to about 553/540 @ 0.8775 volts!

I suspect the likes of Dragon Age 2 might also be on PDL1.

PDL mode 1 seems to be a black list, or the "risky list", the titles that nVidia deems needs to throttle. Also it seems that NEW Titles are on this list, so it may be the DEFAULT limiting function of the card.

PDL mode 2 seems to be a no-issue non-interfering limitation, perhaps just watching and waiting to put you in PDL mode 3. So it might be the same form, its just our video cards have 3 distinct stages it can be in.

PDL mode 2 is where you want to be, and it may function similar to SLI Profiles, we just have to wait till optimizations are made.

Edit:
Added this information and more detail to the bottom of Post 2!

Interesting theory but I'm not sure if it actually works that way as I do notice slowdown when running heavy over-clocks on 3D Mark 11. MSI Kombuster Logs it when I have it in the background.

You should make a Reign special, EVGA 0.963 - 1.063, Aircooled 100% FAN BIOS for all the non Hydro Copper users as none of the EVGA ones currently listed work with Aircooled cards.

I covered that in the post 2. I will make a Bios for you tomorrow... In like 14 hours

Hey Raging, long time

Thanks for the book list

The specials you put up don't work on my card, adaptor not recognised. The oringial patched ones worked fine. Why is this?

I only use msi afterburner, I was thinking do you always have your cards setup in quad sli?

When I disable quad sli, all my clocks idle at correct speeds. Only when quad sli is active does the GPU where the second monitor is plugged in not reach idle state.

Was wondering if you have any idea when memory correction kicks in on these cards
. I ve been able to go near 1900Mhz but was curious where's the PDL kick in.

This invisible throttling has me paranoid about my overclcocks. Currently at 700mhz with mem at 1880mhz, need to run a few games to see if they are throttling however.

Also nvdia inspector has a multiple monitor power mode app, which under clocks my non idling GPU for now. Although it produces an irritating twitch when it idles my GPU. Bugs me but at least it's a work around for now.

Ok, i`m at home now. Wanted to take photo of my solder work but found that capacitor near the place where he must be O_O. Card works fine, OCed to 650...
Here is Palit BIOS.

Strange thing is that Subvendor isn`t Palit but "NVIDIA (10DE)"...dunno what it means.

btw, got a photo of the C784 placement on the PCB...without C784 =)
i think i`ve lost SD card for my camera so i`ve used HD2 - that`s why it`s not as good as it could be

No problems. Maybe version 1.02v with the same driver set, that Benchmark is 3 months old, there was no version 2 then.

Here is score number #1, I think it was enough for #1 in the world (for 590s):

Yes yes I am. I am trying to get nVidia to respond so we can get some information.

I can't super tell because its blurry, but is that an excellent solder??

Thank you so much, I should have a Palit BIOS modified for you before the end of the day.

Not quite sure when it kicks in. It can be triggered by either Memory or GPU. You also have standard OCP and GDDR5 Error Correction to navigate as well. PDL is not our only enemy. GDDR5 EC usually activates as little as one 1 MHz above stock, to 200 MHz. If you start seeing performance go down instead of up that is the only way to tell you are getting throttling in the background.

@ALL
Don't use the 275.56 Quadro drivers, they are fail for the 590.
