I just loaded the game and left it idle.
I keep telling myself I'm happy with the overclock that I've got but I always end up wondering if I can push just that little bit more!
No sir. When I did this build I straight-up told myself that if I'm dropping $700 on a graphics card then I NEED to have a custom loop. I was only able to fit 600mm of rad in my case though. All single fans in push. Gfx tops at 54 on one die and 48 on the other full load, 1V w/ the CPU @ 4.4 1.296V. Wish it was a bit better but the case needs to be portable so no external 240mm rad. (The fans are also $19 apiece
Here are some results while I let things rest a bit. Spoiler tagged just in case your internet is as bad as mine.
I am almost 100% sure it will crash at 790. If it does, I'll start memory overclocking because I THINK Heaven likes that a lot more than 3DMark11 seems to; where it lowers my scores substantially.
ETA: Okay I will be man (and happy) enough to admit that I was wrong. It took 790 just fine. Looking at usage though, there does appear to be throttling. Lots of those little jagged spikes.
According to what you say, 790 is good for 1V, but I demand more. I demand satisfaction!
Definitely setting myself up for disappointment. Now Wogga's card... that one seems to be a winner. Maybe crippling it gave it enhanced abilities like Daredevil or Captain Marvel Jr.Edited by MKHunt - 8/21/11 at 1:05pm
