I have a problem with flashing BIOS.

When I flashed BIOS for the first time everything was ok. I used RagingCain's (0.963v) BIOS (which I attached) and nvflash 5.100.

Then using NiBiTor I created original EVGA GTX590 HC BIOS rom from bin files (also attached). This one also flashed without problem.

Now I wanted to go back to RagingCain's BIOS and this error is displayed:

nvflasherror.th.png

Tried to flash original BIOS and error didn't occur.
Is it possible that it is caused by new beta drivers?

Hi guys. I have a EU gigabyte card here. Is it possible you can set the bios to .963 for me?

I am running stock cooling all be it in a high airflow case so i wont be going crazy with it.

I have noticed that core 1 only seems to run .9130 while core 2 runs .9250

Yey. I've fixed that finally.

When converting from bin to rom I used NiBiTor 6.02 instead of 6.03 and the old one badly converted Sub System ID.
I used "overridesub" and "index" option in nvflash and now everything works perfectly smile.gif

BTW when listed devices in nvflash it displayed 6 of them.
What are those with index 0 and 3?

Have you tried the Gigabyte bios on the front page of this thread? Seems like its the NA version but will still work.

Ive flashed my Asus with NA bios and i didnt have any ill effects from doing so.

Just be aware that flashing with a modded bios will void your warranty no mater which country its from.

I thought i better take a better safe than sorry approach given people have had bios flashing issues with diferent brands.

Also keen to see if this Gigabyte bios has the mis matched core voltage error of the others or if something else is causing my gpu-z to report a lower voltage on one core than the other.

edit: By the way i think the effort the people running this thread have put in is great stuff. Not trying to be a klingon. When there is time ect ect smile.gif

Does the GeForce 285.27 Driver limit the voltage from being raised?

Yes. RC's bios mods work with it though.

ETA: I did see some nice gains from it though.

Well i got bored so put the US Gigabyte firmware on smile.gif

running the latest beta drivers 285.27.

Afterburner shows .975 as the max and im currently running it at 690 / 1850 at .963. Got a crash at 700 core.

Does this driver actually stop it from going over .925 or is what GPU-Z and MSI showing of .975 max genuine?

I have also noticed that sometimes afterburn resets the core volts which seems a bit strange. I have made sure to switch between cores and keep them both in check though.

What have people with a good airflow case found the best results with at the core voltages? I dont want to go too far or start clipping into the safty measures. Im running on stock cooling but with the fans at 95% at around 88 degree. It currently can reach around 82 degree. I have a coolermaster HAF with the side fan right on it.

Crisis 2 seems to be the limiting factor with core speed. Its more sensitive than other apps to a crash.

Fingers crossed this can run Battlefield 3 on 5760x1080 reasonble. The 590 has been fairly good at surround so far. I do have to somtimes turn the settings down and AO off but AO always seems a waste of frames to me anyway.

Currently running a i7 920 @ 3.6 but might turn the turbo off and find a slightler higher limit.
