Regardless water or air its pointless to go over 0.975v cause after that the card is throttling and you gain nothing (unless you will run the card with the old-dangerous drivers)

woot?
on 280.19 i've had pushed voltage to 1.05v and clocks to 800. load temps were 39/40 (and about 50* on VRMs) and have seen consistent score rising.
disinformating is baad

Did you notice any increases in FPS or scores during benching?

in metro 2033 bench. higher freq - higher max and mean fps
in heaven - from 1200s @ 730 to 1400s @800

nice so i guess nevolins post about throttling is not true? Im on air but I have a OC of 705/1410/1975 and i never see anything above 80 unless ambient temp is high but im thinking of kicking the volts up to .988 to see if i can get a core of 730. Right now when I try anything higher then 705 the driver crashes and reverts back to stock clocks. I am on the beta driver 285.38 for BF3 tho.

known throttling problem is in 3DMark11. 267.52 were the last drivers, that didnt have 3DMark11 in PDL list, so you could run it even on 800MHz but overall perfomance of drivers was worse than now. all next drivers throttle card on freqs above 725-730 in 3DMark11 (damn drivers, wont let get high scores). previously furmark throttled too, but not for now. thats all soft i've ever seen throttling. there was a review of OCing 590 w/ tests in BF2, that showed some kind of throttling, but fps was already 90+ so its useless info (and on old drivers, btw)

For me, at idle my cores are the exact same temp and at full load they have a 4C difference, which makes sense considering that the GPU2 heatsink doesn't contact the die fully. My WC block has the same difference, but that's just because the water has picked up heat by the time it hits the 2nd die.

You can see here how the 2nd vapor chamber doesn't make full contact.

That little white plug was a PITA.
With MSI Afterburner, I see:

36c GPU1
55c GPU2 @ idle

During 3dmark11:

79c GPU1
76c GPU2

(a full 10 degrees celcius lower than what EVGA Precision states during load, but same idle)

Also - My front and vga fans are intake, my side window fan is intake (for some reason, I thought this was an exhaust), the back exhaust is exhaust, and the push pull on top (h100) is exhaust.

If I changed my front to exhaust, wouldn't that be a bit much?

BF3 beta is done, but I am going to reinstall BFBC2 now to see what this thing is reading. Mind you - I have absolutely no problems with anything, just thought the temps were odd and high.

Bad Company 2 averages around 100FPS, with 70-80% of both GPU's being used, with temps at 72 and 70 for GPU 1 and 2. (EVERYTHING maxed graphic wise within the game. 32xAA, etc, while playing multiplayer.)

It is just odd that the idle temps are so different.

Does any one know what side of the card is GPU 1 and which side is 2?
