[GTX 590] Flashing & Overclocking Thread - Page 37

Okay so I just got a new 590 in today to add to the setup for Quad SLI. It looks like this one has a different bios First card has 70.10.37.00.90 and 91. This new one has 70.10.42.00.90 and 91. Here is a link to my bioses http://www.sendspace.com/file/augkha. When i only had one card I was using this bios EVGA (ReignsOfPower Specials) Stock Clock - 0.963v Min-1.063v Max - 100% Fan. Id like to get a bios like that for my new card if possible.

Hi,

Just to inform you that you don't have to tweak my BIOS. I read a lot in the last days and learned how to do it my self.

It's a bit tricky but i have done it.

I know the link but sadly it requires me to have a registered evga product in order to d/l the file. So if its not too much trouble to upload it somewhere for me.

Hi guys,

Using this very helpful tutorial I flashed my 590 GTX (MSI). I'd like to submit the original bios and the one I edited with Nibitor to adjust the voltages for other users. In the zip fire there are 2 files which are modified '1.rom' and '2.rom', these are the corresponding GPU's on the card.

I have also added the original backup from GPU-z for both bioses (they are .bin files). You can open them with nibitor and save them as .rom for flashing.
I hope they are useful for someone.

I got one question though, I hear some users say the cards start to throttle at about .975V, is that true?

I have currently set the max voltage to .988V and it works fine without throttling (latest Nvidia drivers). I can clock to about 730 mhz on water.

If I can go safely to 1.06V I will adjust that in my bios. Cards are about 40C under 98% load benching so not too bad.

as for me, i've seen throttling only in 3DMark11 after 730MHz, never seen any throttling based on high voltage and thats all. so i think that voltage throttle is nonsence, only freq throttle exists

Thanks for that info, I will bump the voltage a little and see how far I get.
What would be the max voltage to go to without frying the card?
