[GTX 590] Flashing & Overclocking Thread - Page 42

Yeah you're right; but I'm not planning to OC too the max; just 800 mhz at 1.05 V would be nice WITHOUT throttling. I already got the voltage, now just get rid of the drivers.

On the other hand, like wogga says, as long as you can play all games on max with +60 fps, no real need to OC. Just fun

does anyone have the zotac gtx 590?

save your bios with GPUz (both), upload them, and I will change them for you.

Let me know if you're on air or water. On air I'll adjust max voltage to .988V otherwise on 1.05V for watercooling.

1.05 is a blowout voltage.

The VRM's cause a +0.01/0.02 fluctuation and anything above 1.06v is capable of blowing out the card...

I'd suggest a max of 1.02 considering and go from there.

At 1.00v on initial release, I had my card going steady @ 850mhz...So, it's very possible to do well w/these cards.

I'm 24/7 on 1.06V (I have a backplate though); no issues.

I think with proper cooling you're good. with 1V I cant get higher than 730 mhz, bumping to 1.06 and I can go to 850mhz too

Hello all,

I've recently bought a new Asus GTX 590 which has its voltage capped at .925.

Attached are stock Bios versions that were on the card (70.10.42.02) for both cores. Is anyone modifying these still to unlock the voltage?

I'm just looking to run a mild overclock/provide more stability than the default voltage setting. Something that would allow the voltage to be around .95 would be great.

I'll be using the latest Nvidia drivers "285.62", so will what I want be possible?

Thanks

Hi,

Yes, the latest drivers work fine. I will change them later tonight for you
and upload them; I'll set them to the requested .95V

I think you can reach about 680 mhz stable at least with that
post #418 of 721
here you go, asus bios slightly bumped to .95V

1) get NVflash from the first page of this thread.

2) drag & drop the .rom file on the NVflash.exe

3) follow instructions from CMD

4) repeat for second bios.

if flashing from CMDline or manually type:
nvflash -i1 -4 -5 -6 -A 'YOURFILE.ROM'

-i1 means index 1 (GPU0), so for second GPU you'd type i2
-remove quotes from 'YOURFILE' type here the rom file that is meant for index
- 4 5 6 force the flash and A runt everything automatically

This way you can also flash a bios that has a type mismatch (say EVGA bios on MSI card).

Works fine and is tested. Guaranteed to work

with the latest drivers I got 40010 points in 3dmark vantage at about 740 mhz, so
it definately works still with latest drivers, as long as you really in the bios bump the voltage a bit

Thank you Faust, much appreciated.

The existing bios ran at .875 idle and .925 load. Will this be .950 constant or will it have a lower idle like the stock?

I'll flash them when after I get home from work, but figured I'd ask beforehand.

Thanks again! +rep
