[GTX 590] Flashing & Overclocking Thread - Page 52

Hello, I'm not good at overclocking but i need to find the BIOS for the gtx 590 to 700 \ 1400 \ 1800 with 988mv. Thanks in advance. redface.gif

the new nvidia drivers a forcing a voltage of 0.963v the only way to get passed this is to flash the card with anewer bios : 70.10.42.00.02 and set 0.988 or more in nbitor in all mods : setting 0 setting 1 setting 2 and you get the voltage .

Hey guys,

I have 2 GTX 590, Gigabyte + reference one (actually as we all know all of them are references) but I would like to ask you for a favor of editing my bios so I can push them to about 720MHz~~

Here is the link (4 bioses from each GPU):

Hope you as more experienced members can do it for me, it would be a shame if I f**ked up something.

i did chek your bioses they are diffrente version first card is a 70 10 37 00 01 end second card is 70 10 42 00 01 i have a quad sli too and from my experience the first bios you cant go over 0.963 voltage unless you flash it with a newer bios 70.42.00... i can edit it for you but first i need to know are you on air cooling? because the cards get pretty hot past 0.963v on air plus you start getting ocp and pld kicking in and throttling the card.
Right now I'm on air cooling (not for long though - I will be buying soon WC for both cards) but yet I want them to pass the 3dmark11 at some nice level of core MHz (about 700MHz would be enough I guess) - it's all about passing the benchmark, nothing else smile.gif

I thought they might be different, I bought the second one recently for 450$ new (gigabyte is about 4-5 months old) so I guess it's no so bad - hope they can be edited to at least 963mV for now.

there you go moded bioses for 0.963v it is also known that cards with bios 70.42.00... cards dont overclock very well anyway try for your self smile.gif.

Thank you very much smile.gif

so I suppose I have to flash all 4 of them using nvFlash? I read at the first page it was something about flashing only 2 or so.
Ok learning from my mistakes - cross-flashed second card and it was fu**ed up (artifacts in the screen itself) but I manage to boot from pendrive somehow and type in nvflash.exe second_1.rom and second_2.rom and it's all fine now tongue.gif

It's good, even if you mess something up you can use working card and flash the second one non-working, it will work just fine.

Edit:
Not sure if they are working on 963mV because I've just crashed at 3dmark11 700MHz core or it isn't enough for them.

Edit2:
Nvidia inspector says 0.963V while having them under load so I assume it's fine - probably just not enough for 700MHz or so?

Edit3:
Still can't pass even 2 tests in 3dMark11 - core 680MHz and 1750MHz for memory :/

Edit4:
Passed 3dMark11 at 670MHz core - not really satisfied frown.gif

i have same probleme my first card with 70.10.37..bios will do 715 mhz on 0.963 v but the second with bios 70.10.42... will require 0.988 v to get stable at that frequency card will not all colck the same with same voltage.

try the cards separetly to know what card need more voltage.

ps: you can cross flash the bios 70.10.37... with bios newer bios 70.10.42.. it work fine but you cant cross flash a new card with bios 70.10.42.. to older 70.10.37.. it give artifacts and older bios 37 cant go over 0.963v even if you edit the bios with higher voltage.

That's what I did, cross-flashed the 42 one with 37 the and card was barely working tongue.gif

So you are saying to flash them all using the 42 bios? Both cards? Actually what I need is to pass the 3dMark11 at some decent MHz while having fans at 100% and some extra "things" to cool it down while benchmarking (without liquid cooling I have to improvise for benchmarking purpose) - I suppose I can go for the 0.988V.

You basically mean to test card separately and if the 42 is falling flash it for 988mV while having 37 with 963mV? Is that even possible?
