Think about 42c on air. Didn't take much notice as I flashed the card only to do bench marks.

What kind of temps are you getting at idle since the card apparently doesnt downvolt in 2D mode with this modded 1.0 volt bios?

I assume in the range of 45c-52c idle, pretty high.

On the custom palit bios on the first page I would normally idle at 32-37c.

This is with the 301.10 drivers. I think it may be a result of a glitch when installing the drivers but since everything seems to be working as it should I may just enjoy it while it lasts.
I will post some screenshots and my bios tonight. Hopefully someone else can try and see if they get the same result.

Currently running my 590 as twin 580's. Very happy indeed

And down volts to.

Have tried a couple of games (Batman AC, Crysis) and it seems very stable. Can't use 3DMark11 for my usual stability testing due to PDL.Temps are acceptable @ 41c full load (28c ambient).

I have a feeling it will all come to an end once I upgrade to a 300 series driver that natively supports the 590. Currently using 301.10 with .ini hack.

Talk about forgotten knowledge..

"267.52 were the last drivers, that didnt have 3DMark11 in PDL list"

Question is a 50mhz over clock going to off set the advancement in drivers since then.

*edit* I can't seem to find the 267.52 drivers anywhere and the ones before don't support the 590.

**edit** just found a disc that came with the card and it has the 267.52 driver on it. w00t

Ok so it turns out while the old 267.52 drivers don't have a PDL for 3d mark 2011 the drivers themselves have been greatly improved over time.

267.52 @ 750mhz scored p10,500

while

296.10 @ 700mhz scored p10,877

So I give up. I think the only way i can see over 11,000 is with driver improvement.

So, with the modded bios _Faust gave to me, i ran twice the heaven becnhmark. First it was the demo i think, afterwards, i choose benchmark.
I wanted to make a screen shot but it was all black, so i have only the html file which was saved by the program.

First i would like to share my settings, and options so everyone knows what i set it to.

Acording to GPU-Z my driver version is nvlddmkm 8.17.12.9610 (Forceware 296.10) / win7 64bit
GPU voltage is currently at 0.9630 (which is i think max for this driver ?? ) Although _Faust set it to 0.975
Clocks for my card were:
Core clock: 608 Mhz
Shader clock: 1215 Mhz
Memory clock: 1707 Mhz

Now you're gonna run the benchmark with an overclock yeah? An increase in voltage isn't going to improve performance without an overclock.

totally agree. perfomance improvement from drivers is bigger than those MHz
mb i should try 42 bios with 1.0v for F@H

I did another benchmark, same settings as previous post of me, but changed clocksettings.
Temps are in the 80 / 83 Celcius during benchmark

core 700 Mhz
shader 1400 Mhz
memory 1800 Mhz
