Pump top, tubing samples, and FTW PC sleeving samples should be in the mail when I get home from work in 2 1/2 hours. I've also got most of the night free so I'm going to start dremeling out the NES case to start test fitting what I have, do some more sleeving samples (this time with the FTW PC sleeving), and try to determine what size tubing I can use so I can order the tubing/compression fittings. And I get paid tomorrow, so I'll be ordering more parts! More updates to come later today biggrin.gif

Finally was able to take pictures of my third shipment that arrived today. FTW PC Sleeving/Heatshrink samples, Sidewinder Computers Tubing samples, and XSPC DDC Acetal Top.

The FTW PC sleeving is great! I love the quality of this compared to the stuff I got from Frozen CPU. It doesn't fray, is really easy to use, and it was really easy to string a wire right through it. Now I just have to wait for them to get a grey/silver in stock so I can order the sleeving to do my PSU.

After looking at the tubing samples I'm going to have to go with 1/4" ID, 3/8" OD. Now I can go ahead and order both my tubing and compression fittings Does anybody have thoughts on going with a solid grey/silver tubing vs a clear tubing? Is it better to go with a clear one so I can make sure it stays clear and everything looks ok (no growths, etc)?

Getting all the water cooling parts in unfortunately it's looking like it won't all fit inside the NES case like I had hoped. I have two options that I can think of right away, if anybody else has thoughts on what I can do please let me know Option 1) Extend the back of the case out like Robert did in his build, or Option 2) Stack an N64 or SNES on top of the NES to look like it's just sitting on top like normal and use the extra height for the reservoir, PSU, and HDDs to clear up room for everything else in the NES (this would mean somehow affixing the two cases together).

XSPC DDC Acetal Top -

Sidewinder Computers Tubing Samples -

FTW PC Paracord Samples -

FTW PC Sleeving Samples -

I also started dremeling out the NES case. I still have to figure out something to do to flatten the bottom of it. Perhaps cut out the raised area and then bondo it back in place flat with the rest of the bottom of the case? I'll gladly take suggestions here, too.

I'm going to have to extend the case With some more test fitting today it's just impossible to get it all to fit. Since I already have a spare case on the way I'll use it to extend it, I just have to figure out how much. The good news is that means I'll be able to fit a larger radiator!

But I have a few questions if someone wouldn't mind helping out First, I'm going to be going with 1/4" ID and 3/8" OD tubing - with such a small case and doing a CPU only block do you think 6' would cover all the tubing I need, or would you recommend more? Secondly, I want to make sure I'm adding it up correctly - by my calculations I'll need 8 compression fittings (2 for each the CPU block, reservoir, pump, and radiator) and 2 90 degree swivel fittings (for the CPU). Does that sound right?

It has been a couple days since my last update and I've gotten a few things done. I've measured every component that's going into the case and I'm going to have to do two extensions to the case. I'm going to add 2-4 inches of depth to the case while adding 1.5 inches of height to the case. I've also started sketching the layout of the components in the case, so as soon as I get something more concrete or seems like it will work well I'll take a picture of it and post it up. I should be receiving a second broken NES in the mail this week so if everything goes well I'll get to start hacking away at it some more soon

Thanks. Unfortunately no update on it yet school has been kicking my butt with projects and finals this week. But after I'm done with finals I hope to at least order my psu sleeving to get that done and then order theWC tubing and hopefully fittings by the end of September. Then I'll just need my CPU, mobo, and SSD and I'll be ready to slap it all together!

You could extend the case in something that resemble a cartridge..

Just an opinion though. I'm very excited about this build but being in college as well I know how it is.

I can barely sleep and eat right. But it's worth it !
