Dovetastic has the electrocution angle pretty well covered.

I'm going to rig up a "Cyber Cam" with a Contour 360 on a hat to give you guys a better look at how I do stuff.

Port adapters arrived from eBay. Nothing much else to report except Ropey wants me to make a fancy side panel for his 600T.

Returned a PM

Actually returned more PMs than I can remember.

Thanks for all the interest in my work guys.

800D on the bench for a full make over. Temjin off to powder coat Raven Black. Custom Reservoirs for PCStudent, and an all acrylic 600T side panel for Ropey. The production is moving along.

Luxury yacht carpenter, eh? So, you could you do something totally pimp like this:

And maybe add a custom reservoir that shoots out a little puff of steam every now and then?

Do you give free estimates?

That's an amazing looking thing there. With custom projects I cannot give a fixed quote. Too many unseen variables, and mostly too many changes of direction as the project hits road blocks and requires some innovation. Those innovations are what make projects amazing, but they are also expensive in terms of my time. I'd love to look at a sketch and poop out a number...but despite being able to figure out how to do just about anything I do not receive any numbers from the voices in my head.

Judging from the amount of antique hardware, the coopered construction, the destructive aging to create a patina that thing in the pic would take several weeks to build at $1,750 a week and materials would not be an inconsequential amount unless you stumble upon those sort of antique gauges. Finding and purchasing those from collectors would no doubt be expensive.

Totally understand. Brand new shiny pipes would be perfectly acceptable. And the wood wouldn't have be stressed oak or anything. I was looking online and was thinking you could use something like cocobolo?

Get $60 worth of something like this (cut into 3rds or whatever) to make the wood strips:

http://www.woodworkerssource.com/ts-...-Cocobolo.html

Looks like the surface of Jupiter....

Anyway, I don't have the money on hand at the moment as I'm in the process of getting a house (FINALLY!!), but I'm looking at things I want to do once I get settled in and know what my expendable income will be. Funny thing is, I'll have more play money with the house than I ever did renting.

I'll start buying little things for the case, and in a few months, I'll get back to you. This would be neato on the case...

I'm not saying that case would end up costing $5000, but there is a lot of work in it.

Cocbolo is a nice wood. I've had decent luck snagging exotic off cuts on eBay. I happen to have a load of Caribbean Rosewood on hand for a desk that never got made.

Coopered cylinders require a fair amount of precision in the joinery to look decent. I've made them in the past.

Snagging gauges off eBay would be a good way to start gathering art parts. Anything that appeals to you that's not too much snatch it up and start a collection. I've got some steam punk in me for sure...it would be a fun and challenging project.
